Help on Honda Fit 2006 vibration/jerl issues

Post by huiling12 » Wed May 08, 2013 12:07 pm

Hi,

I am experiencing problems with my car since 3month ago till current.
When my engine is started n in P gear, my RPm will sometimes rave up and down by itself.
Also, when it is in the D gear, the car will jerk/vibrate before moving off.

Then occasionally, while I am on the move and coming to a stop, the car will vibrate before stopping and if i do not engage neutral gear, the vehicle will either continue to vibrate or the RPM will just rave up and down and my vehicle will jerk bad will the RPM comes down.

Is anyone having the same problem as mine and have had the similar issues rectify alrdy that can advise me what exactly it's happening? I have consulted a few car workshop and they suggested changing ATF, I have changed, but the problem is still not resolved.:(
Regards,
Hui Ling

Well, I mean, if yours is manual, auto, or CVT.

Also, the engine is 1.3 or 1.4 (not likely) or 1.5 ? i-DSL or i-VTEC.

From the above, sound like you have 2 problem. Any modification?

AFAIK, JDM's FIT 1.3 only comes in CVT, and not normal Auto. Is this correct.

Also, being 2006 car, has your IAV being cleaned before by any workshop? When you said ATF? What fluid is used exactly?

As for the jerky during move off, I suspect that your gearbox's start clutch needs calibration. Any workshop do it liao.

IAV -> Intake Auxillary Valve.

I need to know if the workshop changed with the right ATF fluid? A lot of workshop do NOT know the right fluid to use. CVT gearbox is very demanding in the fluid that is to be used.

How come they dont know!?...well, most workshop is NOT equipped with knowledge of modern cars.

There are a few official honda methods...but first, are you an engineer, and if you have the DLC box?

Wow intake auxiliary valve. Suntin new. Where is it located bro?

Shawn for a start change oem honda fluid. At ur atf dipstick indicates what atf fluid it use. Normaly hmmf or cvtf. For a start get it drain and replace the fluid. Calibration of iav is sumtin new to me. Perhaps cl7 can advise u further. Else go to reputable shops. Or check out fit jazz forum for shop recommendation.

errr...calibration of IAV and also start-clutch on CVT should not be something new. This is very basic, that any guy servicing newer Honda engine must know.

What's hmmf fluid? you should this is recommended for Honda?

@cl7teckie: Sorry, was out of town. Couldn't be able to get the auto transmission oil name to continue the thread. there is a lot of term that is out of my range to understand. hmm.. PSPS!!

I need to rectify that problem in the coming servicing. So would hope for good advices from experts in the forum!!!:D

I called Kah Motor for advices on the jerks but they commented that honda Fit is imported series unlike jazz. They wouldn't be able to conduct full check.

Hui Ling
