help with honda city 4g vibrating issues

Post by takenori03 » Sat Jul 07, 2012 2:24 am

when i start my engine and in P Gear, my RPm will sometimes rave up and down by itself.

when i try engage the D gear, the car will jerk/vibrate before moving off.

when on the move and coming to a stop, the car will vibrate before stopping and if i do not engage neutral gear, the vehicle will either continue to vibrate or the RPM will just rave up and down and my vehicle will jerk bad will the RPM comes down. this is occasionally happening.

can anyone advise me what is wrong with my car? i have changed the engine mounting, change the ATF,

hi, i had similiar issues but it was with a honda jazz. i believe it might be due to your gearbox. but again its just my assessment.
could be dude to prolonged/irregular atf fluid.
you might wanna try this guy eddie who runs his personal servicing. pretty gd at diagnosing faults. Eddie(buddyclub) - 92723423

Firstly hav your engine mounting chk ,
then the TPS or ICV . But from wat u had described it seems like its gearbox problem.

I myself is also facing vibrations problem too and is trying to rectify the problem.

Have u change ur atf fluid? If not flush and replace with oem honda atf. My frens avante solved when discovered atf fluid was low and leaking. Replace new seal and flush ok. Rpm wise is throttle body and tps, hve it clean using stp carb cleaner.

Can try eddie buddyclub. He is gd at diagnosis. But bit pricey I feel but his workmanship is gd. Urs is cable kind tb. The tps can be adjusted to certain voltage for wide open throttle and when closed. Clean tps and the maf air box sensor using electronic cleaner.dun touch wif ur hands. Drop by eddie place he open till late base on appointment.

engine mounting should not cause unstable RPM and car should not die....

O2 sensor, trottle body, idling control valve. check these 3 as well..

Engine dies off and rpm fluctuates not related to engine mounting.

Call him at 92723423 Eddie. Need to make appt.

I believe City also use CVT gearbox? If CVT, the juddering issues and problems at starting off are common issues with the old Honda Jazz. Basically, change the ATF with the Honda CVTF. Your mechanic will know what it is if you say Honda CVTF. That will solve most of your vibration issues.
