Overheating Water

Post by vinceh » Mon Jan 04, 2010 8:59 pm

hi bros, hope can garner some expert opinion here.

recently had some overheating which caused the water to go about 100C and rising. of course din continue others engine might kaputt.

initial checks found that the radiator was not turning
some technical info: hope you can correct me if wrong. the radiator fan is activated by the thermostat which switches on the Radiator Relay when a temperature exceeds the thermostat setting. mine is about 90C.
so i checked the radiator fan, the relay switch and the radiator fuse. all ok.
just wanting it to run smoothly, i just hardwire the battery to radiator fan. so now fan working.

but the temperature is still rising! why?

checked. the reservoir tank was near the low. so i topped it up to max.
after running for a while, the level of the surge tank did not drop.
so issit the coolant was filled? or was there any air pocket?

are you leaking water coolant??

if so much better if you buy the whole assy radiator with fan
lots of surplus at ubi..

plus check ur thermo stat if it goes auto when proper temp is reached
and lastly check ur upper and lower rad hoses maybe it needs some
changing..

just my two cents..
