JDM Accord. What is Euro S?

Post by David02 » Wed Jun 10, 2009 11:09 am

Hello all!

I'm a bit confused, went to a PI (VxxCxr) the other day, looked at the new Accord & was told that its called the Euro S. Its got the usual 6 airbags, 17 inch rims but no body kit.

I thought it was the TL or something like that but I might be wrong.

Any brothers got any inputs?

Thanks.

Hi Bro, I think he meant Euro S is Euro Spec.

Cos From my understanding from talkin to Japan side, There is only E Model, TL Model and Sports Model.
and by the way becareful to ask that theirs is Aust or Japan Direct Make?
Cos the one u went have Aust one.

However there maybe a Accord Mugen Spec with Turbo Charge coming. When I dun know.

"Euro S" is short for Euro - Standard. The full name is "Honda Accord Euro Standard". I believe the PI you went to has made their order for their vehicles thru Honda NZ. The car is still made in JAPAN, VINs are all JHMCU2xxxxxx.

Part of the stable from NZ, includes:
Accord Euro - Standard, aka Euro S
Accord Euro - Luxury aka Euro L
Accord Euro - Navigation aka Euro N

The EuroS is similar to the "E" version. Only things missing from the "E" version are the folding mirrors, although the Euro S has a much better sound system.

The EuroL is probably equipped to the same level as the TL-Sports version. The Euro Navi has the satellite nav system with reverse camera while the rest of the equipment is same as the Euro L.

Some of us here are driving this model Accord, the Euro S. Happy to say, very shiok. Fuel consumption not as bad as I thought! Managing 10-11km/L on Esso 95.

If only they brought in the Deep Lava colour, aka Maroon, damn beautiful in real life!

If the car export from Japan to NZ and to SIN, would it be cheaper to get those direct from Japan with possibility of higher OMV?

VxxCxx brought in the ANZ-spec Accord Euro (Japan export model). Some of the notable differences from JDM (Japan Domestic Model) Accord include:

1. Speedo reads 260kph instead of 180kph (all JDMs are limited to 180kph)
2. All in-car electronic readouts are in English including Owners Manual (all JDMs are in Japanese)
3. Head unit is localised. E.g. 95.0 FM will read as "Class 95". (all JDMs require modulator to receive local radio frequencies).
4. Rear air-con (JDM Accord E doesn't come with rear air-con)
5. Side mirrors don't fold (JDM Accord comes will folding mechanism)
6. Left side mirror auto-tilts on reverse (JDM Accord E doesn't auto-tilt on reverse)
7. All black interior (JDM Accord E has 2-tone interior; refer to my posting http://www.shc-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=158130)
8. Fuel requirement is localised - RON 95+ (JDM Accord requires RON 100). Note: All Honda models come equipped with anti-knock sensors. Hence it's perfectly safe even if u purchase a JDM Accord.
9. Powertrain: 201 bhp@7,000rpm 230Nm@4,200rpm (JDM Accord - 206 bhp@7,000rpm 232Nm@4,300rpm) Note: Given that u can't get RON 100 in SG, the JDM Accord will deliver slightly less than the stated figures. IMHO, I believe it's abt what the Accord Euro delivers.

Here's the Honda Accord Euro S/L/N brochure:
http://www.honda.co.nz/site/brochures/d ... o_2008.pdf

I don't think u'll go wrong with Accord Euro or JDM Accord. It's a personal choice, but choose the appropriate PI wisely. Fyi ... I got one from VxxCxx. PM me if u need a reliable SE. Happy shopping :-).

Accord Tourer? It's the first time i have heard of that.. I will google that out. Are the honda accord parts for these compatible with the other models? particularly the radiators?
