ESI Engine Light (Where can I Diagnose?)
ESI Engine Light (Where can I Diagnose?)
Any one can recommend where can I Diagnose my Engine Light problem?
Should I go Kah Motor pay for the high consultation fee or is there any other reasonable and reputable workshop to do so?
Initially I went to a workshop in JB to check out the problem. I trust this workshop but guess they not specialized on ESI.
The mechanic advises me to replace the oil pressure valve myself at the VTEC controller as they do not keep any stock. Came back SG to purchase the valve and replace it. However problem still persists, now I'm thinking of getting a reputable workshop in SG to confirm the problem before buying any other parts to replace.
Anyone can help?
Thanks

Alright Bro, Thanks for the advice may check this place out two weeks later as my schedule is quite tight.NAsohcvtec wrote:You might wanna check out Jmotowerkz. For more details, I have attached their website below, you can check out their contact in there. I drive an ESi too. And very very happy with it.
Ubi is kinda far for me, hopefully their price is reasonable. Just feel damn irritated seeing the engine light lighted up all the time.
IC, Bro any recommended wiring workshop? Sometimes just kinda worried going to any shop to do it. Worry they anyhow charge.Dscheng wrote:I had this engine check light ON before. Your car still able to drive right? Actually you can go any wiring workshop, they have the machine to check the error code for you. Last time my case is the VTEC solenoid wire torn. End up they just tap a wire and connect back. Problem solved.

if you are staying at the west side, you can call this guy Ah Soon from das auto at pioneer road, he has the computer to check for you what problem it is. this is his number 96632312, just tell him Michael the car dealer introduced one. Price should be good. Hope this helps...ESICivic wrote:Alright Bro, Thanks for the advice may check this place out two weeks later as my schedule is quite tight.NAsohcvtec wrote:You might wanna check out Jmotowerkz. There is a blink code I remember. Last time my LSi also light up the ECU light. You go the passenger side near the door at the bottom there is this 2 pin connector. You short the connector with a wire or paper clip. Then turn on the engine. The ECU light will blink. It will long link first follow by short link. Eg. 1 long blink, 4 short blink means fault code 14. 2 long 4 short means 24 etc. Then you check the fault code then you roughly know what is the problem already.
The fault code is for your car if I am not wrong should be this
1 O2A - Oxygen sensor #1
2 O2B - Oxygen sensor #2
3 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor
4 CKP - crank position sensor
5 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor
6 ECT - water temperature sensor
7 TPS - throttle position sensor
8 TDC - top dead centre sensor
9 CYP - cylinder sensor
10 IAT - intake air temperature sensor
12 EGR - exhaust gas recirculation lift valve
13 BARO - atmospheric pressure sensor
14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve
15 Ignition output signal
16 Fuel injectors
17 VSS - speed sensor
19 Automatic transmission lockup control valve
20 Electrical load detector
21 VTEC spool solenoid valve
22 VTEC pressure valve
23 Knock sensor
30 Automatic transmission A signal
31 Automatic transmission B signal
36 traction control found on JDM ecu's
41 Primary oxygen sensor heater
43 Fuel supply system
45 Fuel system too rich or lean
48 LAF - lean air fuel sensor
54 CKF - crank fluctuation sensor
58 TDC sensor #2
61 Primary oxygen sensor
63 Secondary oxygen sensor
65 Secondary oxygen sensor heater
71 random misfire cylinder 1
72 random misfire cylinder 2
73 random misfire cylinder 3
74 random misfire cylinder 4

Thanks.... Yah I did a check and after fixing the pressure valve my wiring was broken. Got them fix and my ESI is up and running now.hammerhammer wrote:There is a blink code I remember. However, just now driving heard some unusual sound for 30sec coming out of my dashboard. Hope that's not much problem.... Will check with you all guys here again if I need help.
