ECU

Post by justhink » Wed May 13, 2009 4:17 pm

Hi,

I'm driving a FD2. Planning to install an ECU.
Noticed that there's plenty of ECU chips around in the market and the prices varies quite alot.

G-Link E-manage and G-manage seems to be the most high-end one by looking at it's price.

But is it worth it to invest in expensive or high-end ECU?
Does it really make a big difference compare to cheaper chips?

ecu n the chips are just programming and might provide extended capabilities beyond the original ecu.
whats benefitting u is not really the ecu itself but what people/tuners are putting in the chip.
unless ur mods justify the use of a higher end ecu ... u won't have much gains.

Hi there,

with regards to your intention to install an aftermarket programmable ecu, like what is been mentioned, the key thing is the tuner's capability to maximise the cars set up.

Having said that, I would recommend you consider Unichip Ver Q for your FD2. I have done many FD2 using the Unichip Ver Q with excellent results depending on your hardware set up. You can expect to see gains up to 15 bhp, in a more extreme set up, up to 30 bhp+. Besides power gain, you will also get better torque and throttle response.

Let me know if you are interested in this option. I can be contacted at 98590800.

Thanks
