Gen 8 review - owners please contribute.

my car is back liao...if you have the following (or do not have it/noticed it) you may like to check on your CP.

1. vibration has lessen

2. leather seats (behind) has been replaced

3. doors' alignment rectified

4. rough edges of doors' done

5. part of dash-board to be replaced (indent)

6. glove box to be replaced (indent)

7. rear bumper's alignment/gap was told that it is the standard...bros do check it out.

8. wiper jutter resolved

9. steering wheel leather (i forgo this part as it is not so much of a concern)

10. nozzle water spray adjusted (but still not too good. will ask them to do it again)

11. wash and polish car at KAH this weekend (pending)

12. noise at rear speakers resolved (found out to be the rikecool's film that was not done properly. will monitor this again)

i have other freebies on top of these...

not a bad servicing considering FOC car for 2 days...

Can you elaborate on this? My rear passenger seat (behind driver) has some creases that look like dry leather.

when i first gotten my CP, the leather should be evenly equal in terms of stretched, creases (if you would like to call that) and so on.

i put it down as stretched or stressed marks which is not consistent with a new car..especially a 2.0L car and above. so i made a verbal note and have that changed for me. maybe you want to post a pic over here and let me see your creases? no too sure if yours and mine are the same.

otherwise, please consider signing my petition letter to KAH to gather more power for the changes that we would like to see.

it's not that i'm KS, we're one of the top 100 owners for the CP so my expectations are slightly higher. plus, KAH's marketing has been good and daring to put down the Accord as one of the powerful being built so far...powerful must match certain criteria/conditions, don't you think so?

I'm merely upkeeping that saying from KAH. or should I say it's consistent with KAH's direction.

Note: no wonder people want to sell off their CP1....(reference sgcarmart.com by bro junning)

Sounds like a certain software maker whose O/S runs on 90% of the world's PCs.

at least not 90% of the world's car population's honda.

think really must ask them to do something abt it...

sit in my friends camry... wow... the engine noise is like never on ...

for our accord moving off, the engine is not very smooth... i try my friends 2l civic... sad to say, its moving off is more smooth than ours 2.4l...

engine tuning by KAH...i think they have done something but still not as good as the test car in KAH (Alexandra). but i must say they have looked into it for me. i'm still keen in getting the letter signed...maybe i'll do up something to gather more response (minus from the SHC forum).

to compare civic with accord, i think the 2 L civic is much more better and cost less too!

i'm now in leng kee...i'll go beo the sales ladies...haha.

I will be heading down to LengKee tomolo also to get my CP1's rear speaker sound fixed.

I will also ask them to check the engine vibration.

i came across the toyota forum and one of the camry bros there has his engine vibration checked and fixed...this is the first post from the owner of the troubled camry.

guys, can offer some advice ?

told a few of the brothers here...

a month ago, my batt finally died on me. went to borneo leng kee and they replaced it for me, charging me half of the batt's price. got the ride on sept 19th 2006.

when i collected my camry on the spot after the batt change, i started the engine and to my shock, the whole car vibrated like hell. thinking that it was gonna explode, i turn off the engine and went in to look for service engineer (michael tee) again.

he was too, surprised by the violent vibration (am not kidding) and immediately drove it back to the so called 'engineer'.

in 5 mins, he drove my back and said:

the engineer said the vibration is NORMAL (fark, typical borneo's answer ??). i asked him, i bought a camry. not a juice blender. how can it vibrate like that ?

i swear he replied this "erm... the engineer TUNED your engine, after few days, it will be ok".

i was like, wtf !? tune simi ?? i questioned him and he gave me a blank look.

i don't have the time to go back to them to check again, also i have very little confidence in them. they don't even know what they are talking about. can you guys give me some idea on what may be wrong with my ride ?

ok, basically, i observed that whenever i switch on my aircon, the whole car vibrates. this vibration comes on whenever i am stucked in a start-stop traffic or switching on my aircon.

i tried driving with no aircon on and at traffic stops aka idling, no vibration at all....

when i am cruising, no such vibration.

i doubt it's engine mounting problem. could it be timing out or compressor issue ? maybe cable loose ?

can you guys please advise ? i don't want to go back to Borneo and let their stupidity waste my time or screw up my car further...

this is the solution for the camry by BM

ok guys, field report !

vibrator no more.
they initially said it will take an entire saturday up to 5pm to rectify it.

i replied with "I want it by 2pm".

exactly at 2pm sharp, they returned the car to me

They admitted upfront they 'accidentally' damaged the MAP sensor which affected the airflow/fuel fix and also messed up the ECU

Apologised and gave me S$20 caltex voucher

Am not kidding but after they rectified it, my pickup is fantastic and on idling, literally silent and very minimal vibration hehehe...

hope such nonsense wont happen again ! anyway, thanks all dudes here for the advice !

this is what i think of our CP1 (especially) vibration

I have asked and shown the SA on this toyota thread and it might be highly likely that our vibration case be the same as the camry (minus the battery change etc).

things to check by KAH service/technical team might be the:

1. ECU

2. MAP sensor

3. Air flow/Timing belts/other belts

the above is just my suggestion to all bros who wish to check on their vibration thingy.

as of now, i know most of the CP1 owners that went in for servicing has this vibration highlighted/feedback to KAH. all we need now is 10% of the 134++ people to write in together to KAH and there might be a chance that we get this fixed once and for all.

bad and not enough well-thought out design for our CP's vibration thingy.

bro alvin (one only one CP3 owner registered here),

i believe your CP3 should not have this vibration thing. please confirm? do pm me your findings.

bro, what happened to your speakers?

for the engine vibration...look for michael goh...tell him my name and mention you have the same problem as mine...see what he'll tell you. very nice, friendly and meticulous SA.

My rear speaker board sound like got rattlesnake hiding inside whenever i listen to Jazz music (Low bass).

I only 'eat snake' during work.... i dun want to have rattlesnake sound in my car...
