If there aren't enough cars to make a nice photoshoot, we'll proceed with just the DIY segment of the itinery.....for directions as to where to meet, best to call Pete himself! :D

Ooooooh Joe, Megiuars products are gooooood. Used it and fell in love with it. Protects our cars and make it shine like show-room condition. Be it if its Car Wash shampoo to Car Wax... they're simply great. Think all the bros here should switch to Megiuars products.

You should only use the ScratchX on a clean dry surface....and have to use a lint free clean cloth, but actually there were occasions I used kitchen paper towels to apply and no marks remain.....ideally when you're wiping off the ScratchX you try to buff it abit so the area that has been treated "melts" into the surrounding paint.....otherwise the treated area will look "new" compared to the surrounding.

What sort of marks are you talking about?

Hello guys, I have a power drill / buffer for localised area buffing. Will be using that with the Scratch X compound for "polishing" my headlamps and rims - for this DIY session. Its pretty good in removing scratches off headlamps. I scratched mine while DIYing the spraying of the interior. Did some manual buff with Scratch X, cool, better with power buff. Just got to be careful of the localised buffing.

Bro have you tried the PlastiX? That one works better on headlamps than ScratchX, many times better....

i think maybe the marks were there cos the area not dry. cos i used the scratch x right after washing my car. after that got the unpolished mark. had to use my autoglym polish to wipe it off.

actually my car doors got quite alot of scratches. thinking of swoping with one bro who is scrapping his ride. hope i can find him.

Bro there are some types of marks that are almost impossible to remove with ScratchX no matter how good it is.....your car is black if I remember correctly right? If so don't rub too hard or you might leave swirls around the paintwork.

Stuff like bird shit, clean if off immediately and never let it bake in the sun. I have a stupid stain on my boot lid and my bonnet that cannot be removed by hand polish components although the stains aren't visible unless you look very very closely. I believe the same goes for tree sap.

For water stains, try not to use ScratchX as it is kind of abrasive. Try with a normal polish first, I'd recommend Meguiar's step 2 polish. The type that have to semi-buff off one. The normal quick apply quick wipe off polishes don't work on stubborn stains.

Wash car, I've found that Meguiars Soft-gel is fantastic. Whatever is left in the pail at the end of the wash goes to wash my tires, and you'll be surprised at how easily the solution washes off the brake dust the dirt! Fantastic shite!!
