Problem starting my 07 fd civic

i have a problem my friend car.

some times when I tryes to start the engine, ther is Electricity all the light and all the Indicators and dash options are work fine, but the starter does not work.

When he touches the gearshift (automatic gearbox), put into D, or R or S, (While the engine is off) and then, put it back into P and Trying to start the engine after 2-3times, Suddenly the car start normally,

It happens sometimes, not always , in the other cases, the vehicle drives and start normally.

May some exp advice what can be wrong ?

Based on ur limited description , it seems like the auto transmission range switch might be faulty. U shd see the PRND display on the dashboard, as u slide the gear knob. Car will start on either N or P.
