Honda Accord Gen 9 Pre-launch booking.....
Hi Ppl
Just curious have called up KM to check the pre-launch price of the new accord Gen 9 2.4L only model. The price to me was a shock. $188900.
Its almost 30k premium then the camry 2.5. Or can go for the VW Passat 1.8. Of cos with this accord the tech look better........ for the price range..... I can get the C-Class or BMW 316 at a lower price. Of cos... if size is not a matter... Will for sure top up a bit to go for the BMW 320i.
So sad.... Looking forward to the new accord to replace my 5 year old CP2. Look like have to look else where.....................

can't really say which is good... it depends on how the car is designed, definitely double wishbone costs more to manufacture, nowadays even macpherson strut are able to perform in terms of handling like that current civic type r.Cochran wrote:Still double wishbone is better?deanlim wrote:Furthermore, the 9th gen accord have the front suspension layout changed to Macpherson strut instead of double wishbone.....

generally some manufacturers still design base on double wishbone setup, like lexus, nissan GTR...
regards
Actually, macpherson strut will never match that to DWB. That's the reason why F1 cars are still DWB.deanlim wrote: can't really say which is good... it depends on how the car is designed, definitely double wishbone costs more to manufacture, nowadays even macpherson strut are able to perform in terms of handling like that current civic type r.

One of the problem is negative camber gain, with improve handling. DWB maintains the negative camber gain thru the whole suspension travel. Whereas MS only have effective negative camber gain during the initial jounce. Once the travel goes into high jounce, MS will go into positive camber gain. So if comfort is not in question, springs and damper are stiffen to ensure MS do not go into such high jounce area.
But it is clear why MS is preferred --> Cost. But to match DBW in handling while still able to work with high jounce required in comfort ride...that's a tall task for MS.
Pls dont ask me for wkshop, as I know none...I only know it is safer and faster to fix cars on my own.
