Grinding Noise when Accelerating

Post by nic999 » Tue Aug 09, 2011 2:35 pm

My ride is a 2006 civic 1.6.

Lately I've been noticing a "grinding" noise from the front of the car when I am accelerating. The noise disappears when I let off the gas, and is only heard when I am pressing the gas. Also appears to be gone when I accelerate faster.

I'm thinking it could be the drive shaft, wheel bearing?? But really, I got no idea right now.

Any well known mechanic to be recommended?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

go and have a look first....
try the basic "free" things that can be done to save cost...
see got anything unsual like hole or sumthing?
other than that, no need to change. might be other issues...
check your throttle body? might be dirty or sumthing..

Did your RPM go above 5K? If yes, then maybe aircon clutch slipping. Try off the aircon and acclerate again.
