Hi guys,
I just bought a 2nd hand 05 Honda Civic 1.6 AT. There is something that I feel is not right (first time driving AT). When I move off from a level ground, my RPM goes up to 3500 or 4000 before it drops again to 1500 and up the gear for speed increase. I am not a heavy footer when driving manual. Usually change gear just above 2000 rpm. So I am not used to the high rev sound from the engine.
I have tried to maintain the rpm at below 3000 but the speed just get stuck at 20km/hr for around 5 seconds before it can increase further.
If the scenario above sounds familiar to you and you have rectify the problem, I sincerely need your advice. Although stepping on more gas will overcome such problem, I wonder if it is really necessary. I rather service the car at a cost then buring fuel. Thanks.
