CU2 or New Passat?

Post by Civic96 » Sun Jun 12, 2011 5:27 pm

Bros,

I been driving CL7A for 5.5 yrs and wanted to change car.

After going through all the brands of 1.8L to 2.4L, including KIA and Hunydai  .

Finally its only CU2 or New Passat.

Tested the New Passat, plesent car, nice, spacier and acceptatble power.

Never tested a CU2, don't how comfortable and power of engine.

oh... by the way i also tested the CP 2.4L, 180bhp can't push the car. :(

Therefore, need some advise from existing CU2 bros.

thanks...

Why just these 2?? Personally will consider Ford Mondeo or Skoda Superb over your two choices in this class.

Ford Mondeo the exterior design too complicated. Personally not my type.

Haven't seen the Skoda Superd.
Will go take a look.

Hi,
Ford Mondeo now has an EcoBoost engine, which is a 2L turbo charged unit. It's a pretty good overall package, with my personal preference being the hatchback, where the rear 3/4 view looks more balanced vs the sedan.

Between the CU and Passat, if the price premium of the Passat is not a concern, I'll say go for it. It's turbo charged 1.8L engine is much more torquey and it comes with more gadgets too - all round sensors, adaptive cruise control, GPS navigation. Ride is comfy too, but handing wise, I think the CU will fare better than it, stock to stock.

Given the current pricing, I feel continental cars presents a better value package vs their jap counterpart.

Hope the above helps.

:)

Thank you bros for all the valuable feedback.
