Letter 'Y' on my engine block for EK4

Hi guys,

does anyone knows what specs is the Y block? there is a Y letter on my block and i duno whether which block im using.. please advise thanks alot~~!!!

Wow that the dc2 type r block ,preserve it ,it will be rare soon

i got one b18c gsr engine but does not have y letter

understand from my friends that the "Y" is the USDM DC2 engine (producing 190 bhp?) .

if anyone can confirm , i be glad :)

A mechanic told me it mayb a type R block.. ask me to check with the old birds out there to confirm... that means my lower block is B18 not the B20 ah??

y block is only b18

jdm type r is b18c.. not y block, not b18c5.. its jus b18c..

it the usdm typeR block . it the same as jdm typeR block , only it's meant for usa market

oh , just to clarify , it 81mm , so it effectively a 1.8L . BUT, the chances of being a 2.0L is there if the linear has been changed to a 84mm or bigger pistons size before (but it's slim cos it is very expensive to do it)
