When VTEC opens...

Post by Owl » Thu Dec 31, 2009 6:23 pm

Hi all,

Need advice. Everytime when the VTEC opens, the car will be like been pull back by something, like it's becoming heavier. Driving without the air-con. B16A engine running Toda B cam with Power FC; stock intake manifold, stock injector and no brand 4-1 extractor.
Hope to have some advise so can go straight to the cause rather than spending time and money beating about the bushes.

Thanks and a Happy New Year to all!

i dun think there is anything wrong...at the VTEC crossover, power delivery is very linear, i doubt can feel much of a G-force anyway.

Thanks for the replies.
Problem is it seems that the engine is more lively before the VTEC opens, and once the VTEC kicks in, the car is just like becoming heavy and won't go. =( Wonder is it because of the intake manifold that the air flow is not good enough to support the VTEC's air demands? Currently using a stock intake manifold.

did you get your power FC tuned? Seems like the AF mixture too lean when Vtec kick in. better get it checked.
