Ahh, play safe. You are a fast learner

Wish you luck bro.

Btw, can you confirm if the factory tyre is indeed a special one? Less rolling resistance? Or are you going to replace it? Thx
Last time I used to straight away refer people to the SE that serve me well, no complaint so far, but sometime, people will change, so to play safe lor.

Thanks for your wishes. I hear nothing about tyre leh, maybe the other forumer here can give better advice / answer. This is my first time biying / owning SUV, so still don't know what to expect from tyre. I will just stick to the OEM 215/65R16 tyre, until time to change it. ;) Will let you know more once I got my ride.

Frankly, an 18" set will look nice on a SUV like this, but once I think of the replacement cost (tyre), I rather spend the $$$ elsewhere. :?

I hope I don't sound like I am aggressively recommending my PI. But rather ... just giving brothers here 1 more option to consider.

When I was looking for my own PI, I came to this boards and got like 2 - 3 names / numbers. Then I slowly filter and see which one offered the best deal.

I strongly believe its better to have more variety / options to choose from. This way, we are able to squeeze out the very best deal.

Don't worry, we are all here to share good things / lobang. It is just that I don't feel like advertising openly for my PI / SE, as afterall I don't get any commission from them! :D :D :D

In my experience, visiting PIs is the best way to have a better picture of what is the market price (and package) of a car, and you will also be exposed to the common tricks PI like to employ. Then coming back here is to see if others that got their car can have any better offer, more for confirmation, than comparison. But the final decision is still your, to go for lowest price, or pay a premium for tried and tested PIs. ;)

Just realised that the few wallpaper from Honda Co. I have posted is not size to common desktop ratio of 4:3, so here is the proper one for those that would like to have the picture on their display. ;)

As said many a time in this forum, to me, there is not such thing as lowest price. Well you may think what I got now is the lowest, but in reality, pricing reflect market situation, so if tomorrow some bad news pop up, COE plunge, car price might be even lower. And for me, with a car to trade-in, have to do extra home work (and leg work) to make sure that the PI is also offering a reasonable price for my used car, and don't forget the I don't allow them to charge a single cent for loan redemption, unused PARF value, COE rebate, etc. etc. (I even go to the extent to find out the actual export value of my ride!!)

In short, I am a very calculative person, in $$$ pespective, and am glad that this PI can accomodate to all my requirements, and have them all properly documented. In fact I got the same offer from another PI, and are torn between which to go to. Yes, I visited the 2 PIs I have shortlisted again when I am ready to book my car, stating the final price and package I want, for them to counter offer.

Hopefully this will be my best car buying experience. :) Wish me good luck. ;)
Just a quick update. Collected my ride exactly 5 weeks after I sign on the dotted line (the car was still in Japan then). It reach Singapore by end August, cleared port / custom on 12 sep, pass LTA inspection on 16 Sep, and finally registered on 19 Sep, and I collected the it the very same evening. With an OMV higher than the average figures posted on LTA / onemotoring.com.sg, my last worried cleared.

On my ride, performance wise no complaint, since the car is able to move with just a slight step on the gas pedal, and rev freely up to 90Km/h (for now, still in run-in period). Have to specially mentioned that the new generation R series engine is very silent, and most of the time I am hearing road noise from the all weather Geolander tyre than anything else. The gear shift is also very smooth, and if not for paying special attention, many might thought this car is on CVT transmission. BUT have to highlight that as I am still very gentle with the car, things might be different if I were to whack it harder. Suspension is more comfort than performance based, and going over hump and uneven surface is now an enjoyable affairs.

In the non-performace aspects, the car is well within my expectation. With a short tail, it is surprisingly easy to park althought it look big on the outside. Interior space is good too, thanks to the higher sitting position, that allows passenger to align their leg vertically, thus cutting down the requirement for that extra knee space. Frankly, that used to be one of my biggest concern, after seeing that this Crossroad is 110mm shorter in internal lenght on paper. One special point to highlight, the rear most passenger are pretty well protected from rear impact, with the extra high back rest and head rest, much better than the last row on Stream, Grandis, etc. Cabin also seems to cool slightly faster, even without a rear aircon blower, thanks to the original privacy glass with UV cut feature (so who needs solar film now).

So much so for good points, there are 2 things I dislike. First, the electronic power steering is just too light for comfort. It remind me of the time I am behind the wheel of the Suzuki Wagon R (yes, the popular 660cc Kei car in the mid '90s), with no sense of security when approaching corners. To me, it just don't match the performance of this soft off-roader... Another area is the brake, it is just too soft. Maybe I will upsize it when time to change my tyre / rim size.

OK, thats all for now. Will come in with more update a few days later. BTW, have to add that my first buying experience from PI is a pleasant one, to a certain extend, better than my last dealing with AD. So my theory proven, as long as you know what you are getting, have everything pen down in contract, nothing to fear about getting a car from PI, of course have to be reputable one too.

Can't help it, but more about my new babe... :D :D

The more I look at my Crossroad, the more I want to hug it to bed. My wife and kids now also love the look very much (still remember I have strong objection from wifely when I first shown her the spy shots in Dec 2006...) Frankly, the look is either you love it or hate it. Just send my big boss to the airport a couple of hours ago, and he was asking me what model is this, how much it cost, what is the FC, is it available in US, etc. etc. He (6ft tall, medium build) find the interior space good too. Upon further chatting, realized that he owned the bigger brother of Crossroad (Element) in his hometown. To him, this Crossroad is more "adorable" because of the compact external dimensions and normal opening doors (Element has Sucide doors).

OK, latest update on the FC. finished the almost half tank of petrol (upon collection) with an impressive reading of 12.2Km/L!! (total 300Km exactly with 60% highway traveling) Just pumped full tank of V-Power to see how far it can go, during run-in period. Going at this rate, I am expecting the average FC for my kind of traveling pattern to be ~13Km/L after fully run-in, so what is there to ask for? :P

I don't know if it is just me, but I do find the Crystal Black Pearl brighter under dim lighting. I have see the new batch of JDM CTR with the the new Black, parking side by side with the pre-facelift Night Hawk Black Civic 1.8G and the degree of brightness / clearness is quite different. I have not make any close up comparison though.

Hi Guys,

has anyone try to Full Throttle and REDline your crossroad at 3rd gear?

Last week i clocked 1k run in and did a oil change.. decided to bring my crossroad for a spin at higher speed as during the run in i did not even rev to 3000RPM.

To my surprise, at still, i full throttle from 1st gear and let it redline and change to 2nd and third, to my amazement, 3rd gear at 5k RPM i already reach 150km/hr and still climbing... So i wonder if let it red line at 3 gear, speedometer could be reading 170-180 liao.. hahaha.

I din want to try to hit the max cos i dun have balls of steel. 8)

and 1 more questions, at 150km/hr, anyone experience very load wind noise from the rear?

You can check with Nal. He normally hits speed of 150km. Then when he gets to the highway ... ahh ... thats another story.

Maxed the car out before no problems for me but there's some complain of squeaking noise at around 150. As for me noise at these speed is loud but normal, just blast the ICE hahaha
What I like is at 150 still very stable.

Yes, Atlantic Blue Gray Metallic is no longer in production from Nov '08. That is to say that you can only get this colour from PI with ex-stock.
