like wat bro cyrix1976 mentioned, u have to ask yrself wat u want 1st. Generally, extreme cams= more areas to upgrade= more $=more maintenance= poor drivability at low rpms.

Best value for DOHC is the type r cams (NA/turbo). For NA set-up in SOHC, juz go for the stage3 crower.
poison ppl again .. stage 3 not easy to play oso .. if u still wan to carry on coe u can consider lor .. if not better save $ for ur new car :wink:

just cam alone will not bring out too much bhp although you will see certain gain, alot of other factor also come in place. to do up a engine is not like some other mod which you can slowly add on.

will prefer you save up and fully understand what you want before you mod. track setup and drag setup is different too. you wouldn't want to have stage 3 or 4 cams for your track setup, too wild. at the same time if you just wanna go for 1/4 mile, then you will not interested in stage 2 cam, too mild for you.

the story will never end................................... ask yourself, what you want

killer cams is th way to go for drag !!!

might not be the way too. depend alot on cam settting. a stage 3 cams can do a good job too. gearbox is 1 factor that you cannot leave out.

Big cams muz come in a combi or else wont max the potential. for example: big cams need high comp. Big cams+stock engine compression may end up worst than stock cams+stock engine comp.

just to enquire, crower stage 3 cams gain how much hp? will it make the car difficult to start?

I assume yr car is esi since u are using a d16z6 engine:

1) i dun have experience doing such big non-lta approved mod :roll:

2) As follows:
-undercarriage: esi is almost the same as eg9 (b16 engine) except for the front brakes. Upgrade the front brakes (perludes 282mm are best value) coz ur car will be pushing much higher HP
-exhaust: u need a b series extractor
-engine: u only mentioned engine block. What abt the engine head, gearbox intake manifold, distributor, pwer steering pump, air con, drive shaft, crank pulley etc?
-ecu: u also need a dohc ecu
-engine block numbering?

3) Deal looks cheap as long engine is healthy, its for full swap for plug & play into yr esi, & u ok with the big non-lta approval risk.
the power steering pump, etc etc is necessary when doing a swap? i thought things like air condition, drive shaft etc is similar and doesnt require any changes?
i am actually thinking of changing to a b series from a d series and other than the engine block + head + things attached to the engine like distributor, fuel injectors etc +intake + exhaust + ECU + gearbox + clutch, i thought the rest would still fit. if i plan to swap a b series inside, what else would i need to change apart from what i've listed, and if there's a significant difference in power/driveability/functionality, etc?

thanks in advance as now it seems like my research may not have ended at that.

suggest to upgrade
1. your brake servo to DC2 or accord.
2. brake rotor to 282, caliper also, kunckle also
3. ARB for front and rear

End of the day, you wanna convert to B-series, you need to get a halfcut, dump the stupid b16 away and get a B18C.

All in all will cost you another $15k-$20k to achieve around 230bhp car.

Might as well upgrade your car. more easy and not afraid TP or LTA.

but i may just undertake this project and see. from there maybe will get a stroker kit and up to 1.8. may i ask whats the difference in the air con compressor and drive shaft?

dc5 gsr i think is 252 leh. not 262. maybe i make a mistake.

ESI=> EG. the silver 1 is for EG. U have to reuse yr oem camber bolts
