answer is NO. u want to turbo, u have to lower the comp. can add head gasket or go for low comp pistons. oem d16 comp at 9+ is very good base for mild bolt on turbo

Hey bro, you mentioned the

"for eg9. the best legal exhaust mod is a b18c5 type r full exhaust system (ie.4-2-1/4-1 header, high-flow cat, mid pipe & muffler). if u get the dc2 muffler, it will be abit shorter so the muffler tip will be slightly under yr rear bumper. if get db8r (4 dr version of dc2), it will be perfect"

Where to get? Is it hard to find? Are a lot of EGs using this? What are the gains / pros / cons / sound ?

Earlier on in the thread its mentioned Remus and Supersprint are the two legal exhausts for the SOHC, but for the DOHC, what are the legal options?

DB8R exhaust are mostly fr halfcuts imported fr japan. Now shd be super rare but i have seen many EKs and EGs using it. best bet is to be patient & watch out in the WTS forum. Mid-high rpm gains and sounds quite loud at high rpm

DOHC & SOHC same. Only can use remuz or super sprint with cert. my guess is the type r muffler shd perform better than those mufflers

think u need to install a switch near the clutch pedal for the ecu to sense whether u clutch in/out. Ask joel fr Driven.

for your budget, i suggest u spend the $ on strengthening the car handling & replacing wear & tear. Its almost impossible to get a reliable bolt-on turbo set-up with that kind of budget unless u get super lucky from 2nd hand set-ups fr WTS forum.

if u already overhaul yr engine then no point wasting $ to turbo coz u need to strip the engine again to lower the compression. for yr budget, try to get a carbon fibre bonnet, boot, lighter rims, a gd set of final dr with close ratio gears.

close ratio is the best value for $. With a stock esi engine & a set of final dr & close ratio gears, u can easily hold off a stock rex for a few lampposts if launching from start position :finga:

launch control must be activate thrus the program, your tuner will either set at certain rpm for you or de activate.

mine is set at 4000rpm when i'm using s300 and normal performance tire or 5000 when on semi slick.

need a usb cable and laptop if you wanna do it yourself.
