The two minors are no 11 and no 12 (50850-SDB-A00 and 50860-SDB-A00). It is just a rubbber mounting. Not really necessary but since they are inexpensive I bought them as well.

Total labor and parts come to around $1400+ for 3L car. It is not expensive if were to compare to merc or to what local honda here charge ;)

I put my ac to full auto whenever possible but on recirculate while in the road. Cannot tahan behind bus or truck or taxi :) The leaves are sure be there even on recirculate as it will sips through the vents. I treat my car filter just like our home ac which cleaned and exchanged periodically.

mt88,

Is there any way that you can find out the inner diameter/size of the ATF hose from the gearbox to/fro the radiator/ATF cooler? I hope this is mentioned in the parts book. Thanks in advance.

Been looking around trying to find a PI that brings in the Elysion. But not having much luck apart from Urba* mtrs and Ta* Hua* which seem to be just wanting to sell the last stock they have.

Any advice anyone?

ELYSION POTENTIAL BUYERS..

Post by SKYWAN » Tue Mar 09, 2010 4:59 pm

Hi there

I was able to purchase a used Elysion 05 but make sure that it is not one of the RECALL.. CHECK THE SERIAL NO. BEFORE PURCHASE.

CHECK WITH THE DEALER BEFORE YOUR PURCHASES...

I am a potential buyer in Hongkong. but I saw the price for the 05- 06 year price has dropped so much.. I thought that it is a good deal compared to Stepwagon. After deeper digging, I have found some info. from the web. However, this information is from the web. How accurate is it, I don't know. But if you check with Honda authorized dealer, they might give you some informaiton on this. Just want to let you guys know.....before you made your purchase.

TOKYO - Honda Motor Co. will recall 72,597 Elysion minivans over a defective lock on their sliding doors, Japan's transport ministry announced.

Japan's No. 2 automaker said it had received 27 complaints about the locking mechanism defect in the minivans, but no reported accidents, according to documents filed Thursday with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The company plans to replace the defective locks on the affected vehicles, manufactured between April 2004 and November 2006, the documents said.

It was not immediately clear if any of the minivans had been sold …

AND

2ND RECALL... ON THE STEERING

Japanese Vehicle Recalls
Case: KJ-0353-0
Models covered: HONDA ODYSSEY, HONDA ELYSION

Japanese official recall case number: KJ-0353-0
Date issued: 22/03/2007

Number of affected vehicles: 290326
Production period: 06/10/2003 - 08/02/2007
Faulty component: power steering hydraulic pump

Description: The way the power steering hydraulic pump is mounted is not appropriate, and therefore the tension of the belt for the engine auxiliary devices can cause the pump securing bolts to loosen. If this problem is left unattended, the bolts may break, and in the worst case, the belt could come off the hydraulic pump pulley, which could make the steering heavier.

How to fix the problem:
The reinforcing stays should be installed on the hydraulic pump and be secured with the specified bolts.

How can you tell if the problem has already been checked and/or fixed on your vehicle?
yellow paint on the head of the nut on the power steering hydraulic pump pulley

Which company reported this fault? HONDA

Note that dates above list when the vehicle was MADE, not when the vehicle was SOLD. For example, a vehicle made in 1999 may be listed on your ownership papers as a year 2000 model. The only really reliable way to check if your vehicle is affected by a recall is to use the manufacturer's MODEL NUMBERS and FRAME NUMBERS listed above. If you are concerned but confused, you should get a mechanic to check the model number and frame number of your vehicle, then check to see if it is included in the lists below.

Hello.

I live in Russia - in Siberia.
For 1 year as Elysion bought a Honda from Japan with a run.
I have a car in 2005,RR-3, FF, 3L, VX.
Total mileage is 95 000 km. 10 000 of them are mine:)
Machine satisfied. Before this car was the Toyota Aristo.
Honda goes no worse than the previous machine - I'm just delighted.

I would like to talk on the car on your forum, we have in the city of 3-4 are very few pieces.

I have a question on the card-key. When the car door closes itself automatically (the driver with the card is removed from the machine), it is blinking lights 3 times go 2?

After 5 years of satisfying ownership, finally managed to change absorbers plus all the lower arm bushes. No more bumpy ride and no more klucking sound from the front suspension. Back to the original comfortable Elysion ride.

Note to all Elysion owners or all car owners, please ensure to tighten your car’s undercarriage bolts and nuts especially in the multilink and the arms. After a while some of them may get loosen. If not taken care it may cause a serious damage of loose suspension.

Rather worn off lower arm bushes, linkage and stabilizer holder, a timely replacement.

mt88,

After reading all 14 pages, i think i WANT this car! Would love the opportunity to check out yr ride some day... cos there isnt any around any showroom in Sg to have a look see.

I like the idea of the VCM, crusing with 3 cyl on highway cos i drive 70% highway, your FC figures are far better than my jdm ody, more space is always welcome with the family, and a V6 engine is something I always wanted but not found in the RB1.

I only wish the roof line was abit lower though...

Hi Sk123 and t28. Sorry for a late reply. I have not visited this thread for quite sometime due to increasingly busy schedules.

Here I try to answer some of your questions

The parts are between 40 to few hundreds. I cant remember exactly as it has been quite sometime. In the parts catalogue there is a price in Yen. Factor in the exchange rate and the shipping cost and parts reseller margin you can guestimate the parts price :wink

Sure t28. One of the days. Maybe at Kallang? Pm me...

My overall FC is no longer as good as before roughly around 8.5-9km/l. My trip are mostly short and jammed, long gone are the easy-peacy highway cruise. The car also has more rolling resistance nowadays. Looks like it comes from the wheel bearings and the tyre. I have ordered some parts and will change them in the next round. Will see how it improves and update when done.

Personally I wouldn’t want it to be lowered. I like the way it is. Roomy enough yet can go anywhere without worry of low deck parking. If you find Elysion high, how about Alphard? :D Elysion is the closest to driving a car. I do not enjoy driving Alphard.

The price of 3L with decent equipments VG HDD Aero Smart Version is Yen3,650,000 in Japan. Nowadays the price is not very competitive due to strengthening Yen and lower order volumes. One needs to contact a specialized PI to order one, but I guess at a premium.
