Newbie
Hi friends
I am ordering a red 1.8l AT from KM. Collecting in April or so.
No special offers
Rikekool, reverse sensors thats it.
Need to ask, can anyone give some advice on 'burn-in' technique, things to do and maybe not to do - its my first Honda and AT in Singapore!
Was told to add a can of some stuff to help the air-con, PPS and soundproof the boot. Any bros have 'lobang' for this, or is it needed?
BTW is the red a pearlesscent one and does it matter (only color left sadly but at least, its my fav color)
Lastly, been trying to find a place which does 'vocal reverse sensors' - which give you the distance by voice instead of beeps - no luck so far, anyone knows?
Anyway, lovely discussions here

for clarification bro, reverse sensors are from KM and not the salesman (for the recent batches since dec last year)
red is not pearlescent (not to my eyes anyway.. lol)
vocal reverse should be available, but probably u gotta chane ur existign set and not just modify..

Thanks bro.
So much for discounts and offers...
BTW can you advice on seasoning the car?
Also how about switching to the 'manual' mode, should I do it whilst I am seasoning it?
Lastly I heard so many bad stories about service centres, I am thinking of doing it at the Thomson branch, what do you reckon bros?

13B
13B, yes KM's Civic's from Japan.
Pete, during run-in it is advisable not to do high rev which downshifting using your paddle shifts is likely to do. But then again, the delivery guys from port to the car collection centre has probably "enjoyed" the sweetness of your iVtec engine during the car delivery process...which you can't do anything really... (i've personally seen pre-delivery drivers rev the NEW Odysseys hard right outside the KM's Mandai collection centre, all of them!)

Thanks!
I gotta make friends with the mechanics - had a good relationship with the Mitsi folks when I had a Lancer 8 years ago.
My Astra mechanic is pretty nice too.
BTW when I tried the 1.8l, it was akin to flying compared to the Astra 1.8
Aunty driver with a speedy ride...

If you are taking a bigger loan, you can ask for cash back, door visors, air con filter, free servicing etc.
See if yours comes with the GPS in the head unit slot.
