1) Change power steering reservoir (managed to get blue devil power steering leak fluid to stop leak in perhaps the hose and other parts) .. problem solved
2) Air-Con blower unit.
3) " refresh and disinfect " air con (by KAH motors for like $400 bucks.. crazy!)
4) Shock absorbers changed
5) front brakes warp .. so replaced

Hi, hope u can share the cost of replacing the aircond blower unit, shock absorbers(front n back)? N the cost of the front brakes(pad n rotors)?

Did u do it at Kah or outside mechanic?
Thanks for sharing....using a feb 08 odc rb1 too....
Hi,

I did all outside..

Blower unit - ~$150
Shock absorbers (labour ~$80 per absorber, bought the parts from stockist)
Front brakes ~$300 in total.

One thing to note about the shock absorbers - the original shock absorbers has a hook that is supposed to hook on to part of the car (right at the top part) In order to mount this properly, by right you're also supposed to strip the rear door panels, take out the covering so that you can place the rear shock absorber properly

Outside mechanics won't take the trouble - they'll just loosen the bolt from the top, remove the shock absorber and then jam it up again (more often than not the shock absorber hook will be bent or destroyed)

I have the photos if anyone cares to see.

Here you go..

I'm lazy to post my own pictures, but here is one of the references that I found while trying to figure out what was wrong with my rb1.

http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/kurumanosentak ... 17057.html

At one point, I've stripped bare the entire rear and side door panels, took out the seats etc.... it was a very tough exercise zzzz

I've finally changed my front and rear shock absorbers in JB. I checked the prices of the absorbers in SGP, to be around $160 each for the front and $200 for the rear each. But im convinced that prices should be cheaper in JB. So finally i braved the jam and went to JB to change the front absorbers (original Honda Thailand) at RM380 inclusive of labour each and RM560 for the rear each inclusive of labour.

I've also learnt that its better for you to buy your own parts and then bring it to the mechanic to fix it and you just pay the labour. Actually, our RB1 front absorber we can use Honda Accord's & the reaer i bought the original Honda Oddysey absolute model suspension which is a bit more expensive but i got it at a good price.

I think we singaporeans if we have the time we should try and explore the workshops in JB cos we are able to save a lot by doing it there. If you have your trusted mechanic, it will be better. My friend did his homework well and i shared with him certain tips , he is able to do his front and rear Oddyssey RB1 shock absorbers for SGD$550. Here at least you need around $850-930 .Look at the amount you can save.

Late 06 RB1 owner here..

Yes, i always go Jet Cheng's WS to fix the car, and never fail to disappoint. Very accurate diagnostics, good service and good rates.

I think my car's gear box isnt that tip top anyway, theres always the loud and heavy jerk gear change from Gear 1 to 2 when moving off in the morning... after that its alright... anyone having that problem?

I am thinking to replace the gear box should I decide to renew the car... and advice should i do it?

Anybody has encountered issues with their cruise controls? Like it will autocancel after awhile?

Own this car for only 4 mth.. car left 1 yrs but most likely will renew

Replace the following

1. Power steering has a mechanical sound every morning. Fix at skm with the power steering repair kit. Cost me $200
2. Fan was not working and have a foul smell coming from aircon. Check and found out relay was spoilt and cable also spoilt thus fan shutdown as not enough power to on the fan.

Lastly think gearbox going up lorry soon. Every morning before warm up will always jerk at gear 1. Check at a jb workshop was quoted around 4 to 5k ringgit to fix. Will fix it when im gonna renew this car.

Engine oil last check afrer 4mth still full so dont think i have the engine oil leak problem which many face.

Suspension too hard as previous owner change to a after market. Was quoted sgd750 to change all to original suspension.

Conclusion. Still a very nice and fun car. Enough power to ferry 7 people with 197bhp.
Hi Bro,

I have a similar problem on my RB1 - Every morning before warm up will always jerk at gear 1. Appreciate if you could share which workshop you went to resolve this issue and how much is the cost.

Thanks in advance.

Just to share ive tried jet cheng ws too... but i found out tt this fella even tho he may b gd , he is temperament... he can make u wait for so long while he goes out.... left his father aline doung some of e work....sometimes father also grumble about e son’s attitude...
I also found out where jet gets his spare parts... its fr a shop nearby his n guess wat i went there on my own n bought some parts myself... cheaper than if u buy thru jet... jet thinks sgporean he can chop carrot but now im more careful... the sparepart shop is also thean seng like e name in sgp but no relationship... the salesman name is elvis.... u can buy ur ori hinda suspension for odyssey but its made in Thailand... i was happy coz its cheaper than in sgp $750....
