2005 Honda City CVT: RPM fluctuation with constant throttle
Posted: Wed Dec 02, 2015 7:14 pm
Hi everyone,
I drive a 2005 honda City CVT.
Heard about the infamous Honda CVt shudder problem but not sure if mine is the same shudder experienced by everyone
At Drive gear, regardless of light or heavy throttle,
Rpm fluctuates up and down every 2 seconds (eg. 2.5K to 1.8K)
Basically with my foot applying constant throttle, and with constant speed cruising, RPM goes up and down every 2 seconds.
A slight forward jerk/surge can be felt whenever the rpm goes down.
The feeling can be described as the half clutch and full clutch engagement in manual transmission vehicles.
To troubleshoot I also used the 7 speed auto mode and used tap tronic to manually change gear.
Scenario in face is that the gear ratio drops and rise by 1 unit every 2 seconds.
Anyone who faces this problem before or knows what is the cause please help to advice me here.
If this is the infamous shudder problem, I will try oil extreme addictive
