I'm driving one, but depending on the level of mods u do, FC will vary.

I'm doing average of 12-14km/l with a distance of about 430km with about 1-2 notches left above the empty line.

Is that bad? Or should I say is that the norm? I managed to get around 430 to 440km till the fuel indicator lights up which gives around 14km/l. And btw Im using Caltex 98. I feel that something is not right. I checked my tyre pressure everytime I refuel.

well, to start with, 14KM/l is a good figure. beside tyre pressure, routes traveled, driving patterns are to be considered too. example - start stop traffic conditions are killer for fuel economy (like here lor). aggressive acceleration and abrupt braking affect mileage, not to mention early wear and tear of parts. anyway, have fun with your City. it's a good ride.

Check tyre pressure while cool. As mentioned above, many factors affect FC. Eg A/C on while waiting. Thats 0km/L.

Try different fuel. Eg my ex old City felt powerful with VPower (pumped only in JB :) ). But the FC is horrible. But in SG, Caltex 95 was pretty good. Felt smoother and good mileage.

Some even use RON92 (for older models), not sure about the minimum RON for current model. Try a few tankfuls of a RON, with the same travel patterns. Maybe you will find one suitable for FC and even $. :D

This thread seems to be few months back. But I thought of reviving it because my City 2015 auto does only 12km/l regardless whether it is on Econ mode or not. Wonder what's not right.

I wonder whether Econ mode is best suited for traveling on long distance. The mode delays shifting of gear, if used for traveling in city road with many traffic lights, the mechanism becomes counter productive. It is counter intuitive because Econ mode supposed to save fuel in most situations.
