Post by Cephas021 » Sun Nov 16, 2014 8:34 am

Hi guys, just got a second hand crossroad yr 09. Any advise what to look out for ?
And appreciate if any could help answer my following queries

1) can the reverse sensors sound be lowered ? Currently it'sreally too loud
2) after turning ignition off there is a eeeee sound normal?
3) I hear sounds on and off while going over humps or uneven ground wonder if it the susspension?
4) the ride is quite bouncy is it normal or my tyre pressure is set wrong currently at 220

Thanks all in advance for the reply

Welcome to the club..

Reverse sensor can be lowered but depending on what kind of sensor it is.. check w an audio shop that does reverse sensor.. they should be able to advise ..

The eee sound should be the ignition coil or something like that.. shouldn't be an issue but check w a mechanic just in case..

The car ride pretty hard.. The noise is normal and the bumps are normal too.. I also hate it.. but not sure if there are comfortable suspension for the xrd. . Other bros here may know..

FC averages 11.5km/l

If mostly highway.. can get 12+..

If it's mixed 50/50.. I average only 10.2km/l

Have fun.. its a lively car that stands out. We don't know what to change to when the time comes.. gonna be a tough decision.. :-)

Got that fixed by the audio shop by taping a tape over the speaker in the rear :)

2) after turning ignition off there is a eeeee sound normal?
I suspect its the door locking gears, cuz it happens when i put the gear to park or when i unlock the door in the car, any idea where to get it fixed ?

3) I hear sounds on and off while going over humps or uneven ground wonder if it the susspension?
The mech checked the susspension, said there is no leak but i always hear squeaking sounds, mech suggested may be the mounting ... -.-

4) the ride is quite bouncy is it normal or my tyre pressure is set wrong currently at 220
This problem i figured no choice getting used to it now lol

Thanks all in advance for the reply

Steering feels heavy

Post by Cephas021 » Thu Jan 08, 2015 2:45 pm

Can anyone help? I remember when I first got the XRD the steering was very light almost like can use 2 fingers to turn the steering. However recently there are some problems so after checking the steering rack was a issue but after that the steering becomes very heavy ask mech he say it's normal so it's it normal?
