Need Advice - Belts Changes & Lower Arm Joint
Hi Bros,
I need advice.
Always missed Friday meet-up.
aniway, planning to change the timing belt, air-con belt & power steering belt.
wat other items i need while i change these?
saw post by bro mervynsng, but still not sure which items to get.
or shld just get wat he bought? $$$$ hmmm...
did all the oils change recently, so oils not require.
went for alignment in JB but mechanic says he cannot do cos the front lower ball joint already kaput (wear n tear, i guess) so cannot do alignment.
Autobac crew also mention this before and quote me $2K+ for the change.
Wat items i need to get to change and how about the back?
got side effect if no change? dangerous in long run?
Thanks

I believe you got a used car?
If seller sells at 100k i dont think he did major belt changes. Follow the items Mervyn's thread, skip the tensioner and water pump till 190k in your case. I skip alternate for water pump could be bad advice for some. All sensors, ATF, power steering fluid and Radiator flush better change.
Get a bal joints quote from Ming ghee (kallang pudding) or Kah and get it fix one shot.
And come for meetup if you can.

Autobac one different... they use direct import from Japan dropped forged aircraft aluminium in most advanced technology to create the spare part. Lighter, stronger, faster... so more expensive lorfred59 wrote:Autobac kill you one shot, KM slice you piece by piece for 10yrs.Krado wrote:And we thought KM was bad enough.d34d wrote: Autobac crew also mention this before and quote me $2K+ for the change.

Personally I think that if you do not know the workshop in JB and just go in you are truely asking for trouble... and if you are there you must sit and watch them work 100% of the time to ensure they don't 'ali-baba' your original spare parts...
Singapore workshops you can go to Autosaver or Merlin or Riverview, or any of the reputed workshops that does ES well.
Cheep and good ones you prolly have to come meetup to find out haha...
we not selfish - but we also do not want people go and disturb our trusted workshops with lots of questions (only)... it's bad for us...
Then you can also go to big workshops like Jackspeed, or autobac for high class service, and better still go back to Kah Motor where you get premium service and guaranteed work...
of course, prices will vary.
