water/methanol injection kit

I am thinking of using a water/methanol injection kit for my civic. Studied it for a while and I am tempted to test it out. A few questions, anyone tried it. Do I need a piggyback if I am running it on minimal.

I am not fussed with any increase in HP, but getting more torque and cleaner engine.

Lastly, will it hurt my engine if I am running it on low? I intend to get the injection at 2500 rev.

useless unless u have mod to a substantially high compression engine

Could you explain why or how this would not work for a low compression engine? Would like to learn more.

So far what i have read shows that Boosted engines get the max out of this, but I heard it does also for NA cars, but not as substantial.

meth kit needs tunning if not it will mess up ur A/F ratio. best suited for turbo cars where engine is really hot. even for turbo cars increase is only about 10% in HP or tourqe. NA will not be as effective.

think of it as a coolant 2 cool the combustion chamber so tat there'll not b any pre-ignition / pinging / knocking occur so unless u r forced induced or running a damn high compression engines...tat'll serve no purpose

OK, I understand now. Got excited at first when I saw that the steam cleans the pistons, reducing particulate count in the engine. I thought hey why not, since it acts as a 'cold' air intake.

This type of injection is only useful for force induction cars.

In FI cars, the intercooler itself is not able to cool the compressed air back to room temperature (or at least the temperature that NA cars get)

Therefore with the water / meth injection, it is able to cool much more.

As NA cars intake is already relatively cool, this injection does not reduce the temperature much more.

The water/meth works by removing "energy" (heat) when it evaporates. It removes most energy when the ambient is hottest. Thus, this works much better for FI cars.

My friend's Evo 9 gained around 40hp with aquamist (he was already 550ish to begin with)

As a general rule, NA cars run on higher CR, FI cars run on lower CR. Wun go into the tech.
