I thought easier to post new thread. A post here will not be obvious to many people.

Hey guys, thanks for responding. :)

Truth be told I work for one of the big brand dealers in SG, and I've checked the trade in value of the S2Ks and for a 07, they are in the range of $70-80K. They however are selling at $90-$90K+ on sgcarmart. Basically the used car dealers have told me that there must be a $20K buffer for this car.

Long story short, guess I am not looking to buy at dealers price, but hopefully to mid inbetween a trade in, and sgcarmart price. In the case of a 08, I guess a $100K would be my offer.

I fully believe the S2K is worth every cent nonetheless. Not looking for the best deal here, just something that strikes a balance between market price and premium.

So... anyone wants to sell me his yellow? :)

Yup, been to see that. The bodywork is really bad thou. The entire passenger side has dents from front panel to rear. Owner claims its accident free but that doesnt look like accident free to me. Further more 3 of 4 rims are badly kerbed.

Everything else looks rather good, engine sounds rather healthy. Guess bodywork can be fixed but don't give a good feeling.

Dents are quite unavoidable esp if its a daily car. Kerb rash could be just how some people park. I would be very particular about how i park.

Having said that. When i park in such a good place, stupid cats come n try to rest on my soft top. Two cats had even tried to pry my car cover n make into a pillow so they can rest under the car..... 0-0.

True on the dents thingy, you need to see it thou. It seem like the car scrapped against a wall, or had another vehicle brushed its entire left side. Would have preferred the owner tell me yes, it hit something rather than accident free.

Reminds me of what bad gals would say to the good boy.

Bad gal says "i m really through with these players. Time for me to be in a proper serious relationship ."

Good boy replies "oh really?" with raised eyebrows looking at the number of sms she receives per min.

Same feelings. I know what u mean. You just cant dismiss that feeling of disbelief or perhaps the absolute absence of disbelief. Haha

You, me, same thoughts, I like you already. :) hahaha

Now back to my hunt for a good S2K. Maybe I should just get that white unit, have it checked for major accidents, and if its fine, just get the body done up and resprayed yellow.

Don't like the hassle thou, which theres a yellow unit to consider.

There is this lady who works at raffles place. Drives a stock yellow s2k. Always going at a good normal pace. Looks like the perfect car to buy. Only wish I could get hold of her.

Hey bro. Here are my two cents.

Given there's no current "perfect" option available,
I would say wait.

The current COE is very high. So in my opinion there's no rush to buy ESP since theres no "perfect" car for sale right now.
Should the Coe come down in the future the prices of used cars will come down too.
Furthermore if you buy this white model and respray yellow and go through all the hassle, it's possible a "perfect" yellow model will come up for sale in the future and you end regretting that you didn't wait.

I waited 6 months before my S2000 Type S went on sale. I knew instantly that it was the "perfect" car for my criteria, so I pounced straight away and got a damn good deal.
Now I have no regrets whatsoever.

So that's my two cents worth. I hope it helps
Cheers

And your 2cents is worth alot and greatly appreciated.

Yes I do think I am rushing here. I remember 2months back there were a couple of yellow in sgcarmart, and in a week suddenly, they were gone. I will take a white thou so let's see what comes.

Your story will be in my mind thou buddy :)

Msc bro,

Dun need hurry to buy. Rush to buy = make worse decision.

With the current coe climate, you surely have to offer a higher premium even if its direct owner. For myself, i wont dare to sell car. Truth be told.... sell now also may not be enough to get a new car. If you think from existin car owner perspective, i think many others feeling the same, especially those with only 1 car.

Just my two cents. There is no best solution ultimately. Happy shopping. I m driving a grey black car, if you need to know.
