Hi fellow bros or sis,

My 06 Civic FD1, 70,000km milage encounter this ignition crank problem. In this 1 year from the occasionally HOLD at Crank position for 5sec it will start to kick in. This couple of days totally dead. After overnite go back to shopping mall to try again still not working. No choice calling for tow car. While waiting for the Tow car. I get to the car to get ready for them to tow before they arrive, from P i shift to N=NEUTRAL gear, my hand itchy try go and Crank and it START the engine instantly. And these 2 days it happen NO CRANK but shift to N, turn the key and it start CRANK n Engine start.

Any bros happen like these before or able to feedback on these? i seen most topic ABLE TO CRANK but cannot start the engine.

I experienced your problem in my previous ride.
From technical point of view, your starter motor is not engaged to your engine during cranking. Probably, the engage solenoid is faulty at P position. Get it check and replace.,

I am sorry. I did not get it replace when I sold my ride.
I don think it will cost too much as the dealer don bother either. Check with Thian Seng 63371795

Ur alarm system could be causing the problem ... I am having such problem before using Zenesis Alarm - ZN 502

Changed to Viper 5902 , all the problem solved.

I had another forumer complaining that he cannot start too and worse... need to go SUPER near then can remote start.. so fark tub meh... need to see car then can remote start.. WTH...

anyway U check ur alarm and see how..

hmmm... i do suspect wth my aftermarket alarm, but already 1 yr no issue only recent. but nw nothing happen. is yr fren using remote engine start cos f problem or purely alarm?

Nothing to do with Alarm
Its a faulty sensor/component, I got mine replaced at Kah Motor since my car is still under warranty.
Same case as you, cant crank at P, shift to N, no problem cranking.

Went back to Kah Motor and they replace a sensor/component and problem solved.
