Personally, I am not sure if bigger dia is better. I am definitely sure the intake air pressure the higher the better. We don't need rocket science to prove.
Contrary, turbo charge is using the same philosophy to boost higher air pressure intake.

Since I plan to upgrade my b16 intake manifold, what should i go for?
- Bore the stock b16 one?
- Type R intake manifold from ek9 or dc2?
- Skunk2?
- Any other brand?
Hard skunk 2 is good but design same as type R one? So if get type R one is a good upgrade for B16 stock intake manifold?
Pls advise.... Thank u in advance

I would believe Type R intake manifold manufacturer would have done a lot of R&D to establish in Honda car. The curve of pipe/dia etc for Type R performance air intake demand will meet the specification.
As long as it is a establish brand (Japan type), you are rest assure.

Go for a EK9 intale manifold... Its good enough for a budget run..

ok..actually interested to know whether upgrade of intake manifold to type R or skunk2 help in improving the performance in term of different RPM range. e.g. difference in high/mid/low rpm? Because from what i know B16 and type R are both 62mm

EK9 and DC2R same intake manifold. Difference is only on the throttle body, EK( being 2mm smaller. You can machine them bigger by 2mm but I doubt you can feel that 2mm difference.

Heya there guys..
Just to clarify things here both have the equal diameter in their plenum only diffrence is the throttle body that their using.. One is bigger by 2mm.. And the fact that dc2 has its iats (intake air temp sensor) mounted on the manifold itself while ek9 iats is located at the CAI before the throttle body..
