Changing manual gear to auto

Hi bros, am wondering if anyone here has any experience converting their manual cars to auto before... Would it be too costly or technically hard? Reason is cos my wife scared to drive cos the car is manual and i can't really afford a new auto car.... thanks.

lta cannot get approval...unless u got proof that it is certified safe by the manufacturer...that time i thot to convert my auto to manual i ask them....so i drop d idea but now u pay me money also i wont convert....love the auto...ha ha becoming more lazy....

The legal way, so far don't think it's worth the effort and time you have to invest, probably not cheap and probably end of the day won't get passed by LTA.
The not-so-proper aka "illegal" way (not saying that it is, not saying that it's not), depending on the price of the spare parts required, is relatively cheap and takes about 2-3 days work in a workshop.
See you dare to hiong or not only....
Actually better way is to stick to what you have and re-educate the wifey. To newbie drivers manual cars are safer than autos, generally speaking. If you chicken hand duck feet the most that happens is you stall the car and become a traffic obstruction. For autos, as long as the car is in D mode it is always "on power".

yup agree and especially with an Ek4 Auto....power is an understatement....

Not worth it bro.. For me its better to sell
the car and buy an AT one than convert it
less worries in the end..

I googled b4, convert LHD to RHD already cost a bomb, set aside auto to manual.

No point changing, just have to stick with what you got.
Honestly, manual have some advantage over auto.
One thing I dislike about Auto is not knowing when the gears
will change. On many occasions especially after decelerating, I have to rev the
engine hard to accelerate . This is because The transmission did not shift
to a lower gear as expected . It is like moving off after stopping on 2nd Gear.
Of course in a traffic jam, having auto transmission is much more beneficial.
