Hi,

I've just taken over a 2nd hand 07 jazz auto with cvt. mileage around 72k
Noticed that when moving off, there's a slight shudder from the engine when my foot lifts off the brake pedal.
It also happens when braking and coming to a full stop.
Any bros here can advise what should I do?

Just had an engine oil change yesterday, but still shudder is still evident
Please advise, as well as any charges.

also nearing my 80k mark
any advice on the major servicing?

Thanks,
Zhong

Check your engine mountings.... It might also be your CVT gearbox... When was the last time you change the CVTf?? :) :)

Hi bros,

I just changed the CVTF early this morning. with oil extreme concentrate too.
The shudder is still there.
A couple of questions

1. I read some say need a startup clutch change?
If so, any idea how much would that cost?

2. I was quoted about 400 for change of mounting. Is that a reasonable charge? Do I need to note what kind of mounting should I change?

3. Also, I notice a slight whine when cruising around 70km/h upwards.
Like a very gentle wheezing sound.
Is that from the cvt? Any advice if this is an issue I should note?

Cheers,
Zhong

If it is startup clutch failure, Its going to be expensive to replace....

Changing of engine mountings can cost as low as $300.... Go to Honda sparepart stockists to buy the mountings.. Then bring it to workshops to get then to install it for you....

Its normal to hear wheezing sound from a CVT gearbox...

:) :)

My previous car Toyota corolla also has wheezing sound. I didn't bother and drove for 4yrs. No problem....juz noise.
For your engine to tremble convlusively, most likely is the engine mounting rubber is harden. Normally, it has to change if the shaking is too convlusive. Else, the alignment of the air-con may have shifted.

this one seems very common, Jazz and city. My 06 city also like that, judder, send back to kah motor, everytime flush and change cvt transmission fluid. good for 3months then problem comes back.

Just now send to comfortdelgro for servicing, wapian, tell me engine mounting crack liao. Replace $450! Now waiting to collect car this evening...
xian, why coe so high ... haha.

Did Comfortdelgro inform the breakdown price? I believe major portion goes to labour. They need to lift up the whole engine in the process.

Ya, u were right, the parts(3 x mounting) cost ard $260+, the labour charges were around $210 for replacing the mounting and the brake pump.

But it was a lousy experience cos I was there for 2 days, because they got the wrong parts for my car not once but twice! And afer I got my car, I turned back at the very next junction, the rpm was like so low(maybe 500) wheneven I am braking to a stop or when i release my brake ... whole car was shivering like coming apart.

Brought back, told me throttle dirty cleaned... this and that ... now much better, but strange thing is I never encounter this before the servicing. Xian lah. Anyway am glad now that the car is back and can drive. haha.
