Any recommendation? Was thinking of getting Amaron green battery but I heard that newer version of amaron green battery (i.e. which is in lighter green color) is no longer as lasting as the older one. Most need to be changed slightly after 1 year? How true is it? What other brand is good for performance and also lasting? Bosch?

After trying a couple of light weight ones for my race car, I've come to the conclusion that JUST BUY A NORMAL ONE and save the money. The weight savings NEVER justifies the cost.

Also, I don't like the maintenance free ones, I prefer the ones where you check and top up fluid. A little work but they last a whole lot longer.

Unless you have some Super Duper ICE, normal batts are the best - cheap and good.

yup...wet cell batteries do last longer than those maintenance free batteries...

just to share a bit of my personal experience..

1. insulation around the battery from the engine. my previous stock battery from my previous vehicle lasted 4.5 years because it had a shield from the engine.

2. invest in a good capacitor in you have some sound system with big amps. you will feel the difference when you start your vehicle.

3. start your car with the air con off. removes unnecessary stress from your battery.

these measures did help me lengthen my car battery life...
