1. Replacement of knock sensor.
Note: Knock sensor replacement requires intake manifold removal, which requires top-up of cooling system reservoir with Honda Long Life Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2.

2. Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS.

3. Update the A/T software with the HDS.
Do you have the TSB for this?????? Especially for the Euro model as I'm not sure if the part number for the sensor and PGM is the same for TSX / JDM/ Euro model
The TSB 09-041 I have is for Acura TSX. However, the corrective action to resolve the engine pings during moderate to heavy acceleration for CU2 should be same. Seems like MBM is not carrying out the right procedure; KM would be laughing if they're reading this thread. I suppose these are the calculated risks that we take when we decide buy from PI. If u look on the bright side, Honda reassures that there is no harm to the engine and guarantee the engine will have no ill effect - I swear I've heard this before even on my old ES5, which was bought from KM:
http://www.carsguide.com.au/site/news-a ... eing_fixed

Action (1) and (2) needs to be carried out. Action (3) needs to be done if ur CU2 is an auto-box.

Here're are the parts information for corrective action (Acura TSX):

Knock Sensor: P/N 30530-RL5-A01
Intake Manifold Gasket (four required): P/N 17115-R40-A01

Failed Part: P/N 37820-RL5-A51 <- this could be the failed knock sensor?

Software information (Acura TSX):

HDS Software Version: 2.019.009 (August 2009) (gray) or later
Control Module (CM) Update:
Application Version V6.18.06 or later.
Database Update 05-AUG-2009 or later.

Ah ok. I gave MBM the Acura TSB in Dec, so *hopefully* they will follow the instructions on it and fix as stated.

Heard from the Aust guys that some folks are still facing the pinging due to incorrect installation. :(

Anybody else called up MBM to do the fix yet?

I ding dong here and there and FYI I started this correspondences with both parties since last year Nov.

1) Contact Vincar officially to Audrey Ng [[email protected]] she need to instruct MBM to go ahead with the checks and ordering of knock sensor

VinCar Pte Ltd
Mobile: +65 9875-1119
DID: +65 6590-9975
Tel: +65 6474-1119
Fax: +65 6479-1911

2) MBM will do what was told by Vincar and do the necessary follow up.

Today MBM change out 1 item knock sensor with p/n : 30530-R40-A01 (FOC for parts & labour so no complain)

After the change i notice as follow base on my butt feel

1) Throttle response seems to change (diffcult to describe)
2) My knocking sound appear on 2 range (2000-3000rpm) & (high rpm while overtaking) Seems like the lower range are now not so audible. I do hear some knocking sound around 4000 - 5000 rpm now.

as such i do not see them reset the ECU so i will monitor it for 1 month and see how it goes.

I trying to find out this part number 30530-R40-A01. Is this the original part for CU2 or the correct part for this problem? I just hope that don't just change for me a new sensor (which is the same as orginal) to stop me from pestering them!!! :(

Hey Bro, Thanks for all the help. I'm going to Send vincar the email now and ask them to rectify this problem.

Hey bros,

I'm wondering if anyone has their pinging issues resolved via the recall already?

Hey Silvermall,

I went to have the knock sensors replaced and software upgraded @ MBM. Engine still pings. Not sure if it's worth your effort to 'rectify' this.

Thanks for the response bro - read from the forums that Australia Accords are still having problems even after the reflash and knock sensors replacement. This sucks big time for a Honda.. :(

hello, does anyone know an official site for the list of acura technical service bulletins? I only have this list of Acura TSB but I can't find pinging issues there. I need a formal documentation for my dealer in order for them to fix my car. I lack necessary details like service bulletin numbers.
