Hey guys, i m driving a honda civic EG9.

When i cold start my car in teh morning, tthr rpm will automatically drop to 0 after a few seconds and it automatically dies off. If i on my air con after i start my engine immediately, the engine will die off immediately.

Now the only way tat i resolve this problem is to step on the accelerator for abt 1min after i start the engine and everything will still be fine.

I can only on my air con on express ways when there is no chance for my car to stop in a short time.

Have done quite alot of checks but still duno whats the problem.........

Maybe you can help by posting a bit more details such as did you just bought the car? If not, are there any recent modifications that you just did to the car? How long have this problem lasted? Have you brought the car to any workshop to check? Can you elaborate what are the checks that you had done?

I am not an expert, but it does sound like air/fuel ratio issue, which I also faced in the past when I changed some parts that increased air intake significantly without a piggyback to tune the car. Thus, all those questions that I asked above.

It doesn't sound like an extractor problem to me. Pardon my limited knowledge, maybe have to see other bros can help or not. Got try workshop?

got try workshop already leh.....but no help.....can bros give any advise?

Hey stan86, driving a 92 eg9, do you have an air con control valve? My car had the same problem also when i on air con.

I used to have the warm up problem also, I am using 4-1 extractor, problem was resolved after i changed my intake manifold. Had to bear with it for months before i found the problem. May also be your fuel system. Hope it helps!.

first..

remove and clean the iacv sensor (intake air control valve) this regulates the air when you iniatial start up maybe theres a thick carbon build-up
already.. for doch/soch its located at the back portion of the im(intake
manifold) i thing it haas 3 bolts clean it with carb cleaner.. careful not to
misplace the small rubber gasket attached to the iacv

second..

remove and clean the throttle body carefull not to remove the tps(throttle
position sensor) thus u will have prob with idling.. clean the throttle idle valve a piece of fat screw located at the top end part of the throttle maybe
its full of carbon deposits..

hope all of these helps guys..

by the way doing that to my engine monthly so no idling issues watsoever

Good stuff.. also check the cables to the iacv. I once had a half life connection to it and would get erratic idle and bad charging during idling . just a simple rewiring abt 5 bucks to solve the loose wire issues..

be sure not to interchange the iacv socket and tps socket because i have
harness customise ive intrchange the two sockets hahaha.. engine starts
but wen accelerating it bugs down..
