Front Brake set assembly
My FD2 front brake pad is time to change. I went to Silent to enquire on the front set of brake OEM by Silent.
The staff told me to upgrade to rim 17" for better fit on the brake. The staff started talking on radius and I have no clue on this topic.
I was told 16" have problem to assemble.
Can anyone share on this topic.
Thank you in advance

Re: Front Brake set assembly
my advise is to just buy the pads from thien seng or meng ghee and be done with it. u can also try ferodo pads, very cheap and good.chayfoocheong wrote:My FD2 front brake pad is time to change. I went to Silent to enquire on the front set of brake OEM by Silent.

Dun think there is any Brembo direct fit onto FD2chayfoocheong wrote:Can anyone share if I want to get a new set of entire performance front brake, caliper etc.
Which brand is prefer for FD2 i.e Brembo and how much?
Taiwan brands cost around $1.4k
Would recommend VTTR mini 6pot at $1.8K
Japanese brands will cost $2.5k min to install
Get spoon mono block with 300mm rotors, that will be good
Note : Need min 17" rims to clear most BBK and offset/width need to take into consideration

Brake Disc
Today just change a new set of brake disc in malaysia due to stock disc giving too much problem. Front brake disc from Brembo cost me $420 for a pair. May i know is it expensive? Is Brembo the OEM for Honda 'cos I told the workshop to replace with OEM part but they get me a Brembo brake disc instead. By the way may I know what is the diameter of FD1 '06 brake disc?

think what he meant is that he change to brembo brand rotors only, so shoud not b a problem. btw, friend hv a set of JBT 4 pot for sale.chayfoocheong wrote:I believe the stock rotor for FD1/2 should be 286mm.
I suspect you brake pad is not fully utilize on this rotor as Brembo brake must be used for rotor >300mm at least.
I was reading mini brake pad from ATS which suitable for rotor 282mm range.
let me know if interested.

well it cost RM$420 for the front disc only. Here is the link for your reference.

Copy and paste the whole link to see it.
I have seen the packaging and it does not look like chiong.

Re: Brake disc
It's brembo blank, OEM replace to stock, price is o.k, just beware not to use high temp brake pad on it. If use can possible cause the thermal crack!blursotong11 wrote:well it cost RM$420 for the front disc only. Here is the link for your reference.

Just stick to the stock brake pad it will be fine....my 2 cents.
