after market air intake system (simota air intake system)

Hi All
can anyone advice on this.
what is the consequence of changing to after market air intake system eg simota air intake systme
will this affect the FC? perforamance or anything good or bad.
pls advise as compare to original air box

I hv simota air filter for my FD2. The FC got worse.
However, the car perform better at high speed. A fren did advise to change the exhaust too and flash the ECU to complete the whole power and fuel ratio for the combustion. Then you will get the fullness of upgrade and power output.

what is ur aim of changing it?? what u want from it?

Initially, I wanted a good flow of air intake to support combustion. This will give a better performance and efficiency for the engine.
Unfortunately, after understanding the entire cycle, I also must provide a good exhaust flow out. Now become more complicated and ECU also must tune for Air/Fuel ratio.

best is intake n exhaust done "together" at the same time. tuning is the last part when u finish all ur mods....

Sorry to interupt. Care to check for Integra M. Is it same to install the air in take and exh at the same time to prevent something like FC consumption happen? Sorry as I just bought a 2nd hand with everything changed back to stock condition.
Be glad if anyone can advise on this..

stock air intake already has good flow. unless u race around the roads at full throttle. Our engine is already very efficient. changing the air intake may actually worsen the efficiency.
tuning the ECU is not a simple process. it is not as easy as it seems to be. lots of time and money may need to be spent in the process.
