Go-Kart Sessions/Information/Discussions
Wed night on a damp track drying out at the end.
Night karting is so much better!
CAI...free
Kart got adjusted and seat is so much closer now so I get more leverage. Pedals adjusted and I sit more snugly.
Lap times improved as the hour passed.Times improved and more consistent....on a drying out track..
Great fun.
Try to make it Sunday.

Hey man! Nice work on the setup and laptimes, congrats!
I've got good news for you too. I'm about to get 2 more car guys into karting, plus my kart has been moved to storage at Kartright at last, so I can kart week nights too
Yeah didn't see you around last Sunday. Fixed the gearing, fixed the jetting, but the surging in the mid range is still there along with the occasional pop. Need to get on the mechanics to try harder to fix it because I don't see how it can be due to compression issue...has to be fuelling or ignition. Despite the issues, low end has never felt better. Kart felt a lot faster, but personal best wasn't broken. Probably tires going away slightly, or the surging issue. Getting real tired of this engine.. maybe dump it and get new rotax max, or better yet, a new kart with front brakes

KART OR DIE
Slowman, how bro? Dun so slow! There's a group buy of about 4 or so new Sodikart chassis happening soon. Front brakes and all.. woot! If you join it'll be 5. Choice of engine is up to you but if most of the GBers go with either the KF2 or RM engine, there'll be good savings on those too.
KART OR DIE
Where? Price? Details? Which forum?

Email you soon. Looking at Intrepid, Tony, Sodi, CRG. Collecting all necessary info (price, config, availability, etc.) and finalizing confirmed GBers by end of this week. Order submission should be early next week.
All Sodi info has been collected but working on remaining 3 to make a better decision.

Kart for sale
Selling because we're upgrading to new karts after initial 6 month restart in karting locally.
For sale is an excellent starter kart. Don't wear out a brand new kart with sub-par driving. Give yourself some time to explore techniques on a cheaper kart first, and at the same time take time slowly consider all options before selecting a new kart (12 - 20K SGD).
====
2004 Haase chassis (rear brake) with 2002 Rotax Max engine.
Full rain wheelset (rims, hubs, tires) with virtually new hubs and tires (rain wheelset used once only)
Sodi stock fibreglass seat medium large seat (suits drivers around 75-85kg 1.7-1.8M)
2 spare Fibre Carbon Satou seats (carbon kevlar) medium small (suits drivers around 65 - 75kg 1.7-1.8M). Some light damage that can be cheaply repaired at any of the local kart shops.
Kart has had 2 owners in total (we got it pre-owned) but very well set up kart, both in the dry and wet... neutral.
Engine has just been rebuilt by Andy at Espace, and there are 0 hours on it.
In current pre-engine-rebuild form on medium compound MG yellows will run 35.8 sec lap at Kartright Speedway with a 70kg driver, which is good for a chassis and engine this age, with this type of tire and typically within 0.2 sec of the newest 2009 or 2010 karts of similar config (rear brake, stock rotax max, MG yellow tires).
Kart and all spares can be sold for 4.5K SGD in current condition and 35.8 laptime capability can be proven to you at the track with you as witness, and the data given to you. The data system can be sold with the kart for a small additional, or we can sell just the kart.. up to you.
Or we can go ahead and rebuild the engine (standard rotax max) back up to original power and sell the kart for 5K after proving a 35.6 lap. Or rebuild it to supermax level and sell it for 6K after proving a 35.4 lap.
Bridgestone medium compound tires that many people run should be good for at least another 0.3 - 0.6 sec reduction. Tire choice is up to you.
