Can I ask whether it is advisable to run B20 with 4.765 FD? What are the pros and cons? Cos I think usually B20 is with 4.4.FD. Will feel funny if a high torque engine is combined with a high FD? better to use a B18 with high FD? Pls advise...

Bro firstly depend on what type of engine u using B16, B18 or B20, Secondly, what distance you want to play?there is no gearing to fit all senerios, for instance some play carpark or short distance , they prefer high FD, while play 40 tangs prefer lower FD.
as what street project say using B20 it is reasonable to using 4.4 or 4.2 , depending on what mods have been done on the B20.....Heard of B20 using 4.785 but its mean for hardcore racing, daily use, fuel consumption is high.
As for B18 or B16 Stock, its advisable to use 4.785 , using the high FD to make up for the torque which B20 have.
Cheers

b20...bhp around how much...how abt tq? if its a good builld...high on power...lower FD will suit better...more distance to pull...
b18...using a 4.785 FD is usually nicest combo...will be abit higher at 5th gear..
all this is base on stock b16 gb gear ratio...

just to sidetrack a little, will a 4.785 fd from a dc2r fit a stock b16 gearbox. I've heard that you need the LSD to fit the 4.785. Myth or fact? it does not make much sense that you need an LSD to fit a FD.

The DC2R '98 onwards have a bigger ring gear than a B16A. You can't just fit a FD from a DC2R into a B16A.
If you intend to then fit a DC2R FD & LSD into a B16A box, you need to modify a few more things in the B16A gear box, First gear etc comes to mind.
Your best bet is to purchase an aftermarket unit. My recommendation is to also install an LSD at the same time. All front wheel drives should have an lsd. MFactory makes all the gears you need at very competitive prices.

It wouldn't be a problem at all. Infact, if it were me, I'd be running a 4.9
:-p
Most people retain the 4.4 because thats stock in most boxes.
