Fuel Guage Query

Hi Guys,

The specs for my FD1 indicate that my fuel tank capacity is 50L but so far I am unable to top up more than 40L even when I am only left with 1 or 2 bars (out of 19/20) on the fuel guage. Max I am only able to top up around 39L (based on the receipt from station) with the fuel guage indicater light blinking.

Is there some problem with my fuel guage? Or is the remaining 10L reserve fuel that is not covered in my fuel guage?

there is nothing wrong with ur fuel gauge.

Firstly the reading will not be accurate when on the move as the fuel in the tank is swirling around.

Secondly, you are unable to use up all the 50L of fuel in the tank as you have to consider the fuel pipe, the amount in ur fuel filter and some fuel tat is unable to be suck by the fuel pump.

Reserve (10l) is shown by gauge... when the reserve light comes on. so if u don't see the light & top up as per you describe, the amt you top up will be full-tank minus reserve amt.

So... there's nothing wrong wif your gauge.

Cheers!

So that 1 single bar out of max 19/20 bars in the guage represent 20% of my entire fuel capacity. Interesting

No wonder I can't never top up more than 40L. Only reach the blinking light once before.
