Hi everyone,

I'm facing some problems with this 2nd Honda Fit which I bought a few months back. My car is a Jan 2006 Honda Fit 1.3(A) Can anyone recommend a workshop which can help me solve the below mentioned problems? Thanks a lot.

- Weird engine vibration experienced during moving off especially during the initial startup, where the engine sounds like a van's diesel engine. (The 2nd hand car dealer who sold me this car told me to change the engine gearbox oil which i did. Initially, engine became smoother but problem comes back after 2 weeks. I went to 1 workshop where they did a engine diagnosis test with a laptop but no problem found)

- Abrasion sound experienced from the rear left wheel area especially when there's passenger sitting at the rear left seat when going over bumpy road and humps. (The guy at the above mentioned workshop who did the engine diagnosis test also help to jack up my car and did an undercarriage check but says that there's no signs of abrasions at the rear left wheel area.)

- Battery indicator light comes on ONLY during rainy days. Does battery indicator light only indicates low voltage or there are any other defects pertaining to the battery?

The vibration that you are experiencing is coming from the CVT gearbox... For CVT gearbox, you can only use CVTF or HMMF gear oil and not something else... There is this guy by the nick Buddyclub selling a conditioning oil for CVT to overcome the vibration issue in Fit/Jazz forum.. but a small bottle from him and pour it in when you do a gear oil change...

As for engine oil, what weighted oil are you using now? 0W20?? 5W30?? 5W40??

The abrasion by the wheel during load is cause by wrong offset of the rim... check your left rear tyre side wall for rub marks... most likely it is rubbing the screw joint portion that holds your rear bumper to the fender...

I have no ideal on this matter.... maybe some other bros in here can comment..

your start up clutch might be gone case liao, the battery light might be due to faulty alternator, and the rubbing issue might be gone after you do fender rolling, your tyre sidewall might be rubbing the bodykit or fender area, check for abrasion mark on tyres

Seriously, I have no idea what oil is in my engine right now as the car dealer said he did a servicing b4 handing over to me. What engine oil do u recommend?

I'll take my car down to a workshop to access the situation today, hopefully it's due to fender problem, ELSE . . .

I hope the alternator is not faulty as i heard it is not cheap to replace an alternator. Anyone of u know how much a brand new alternator cost?

Thanks for ur advice =)

Better to service the car..... for engine oil, can go for 5W30... gives good FC... Amsoil 5W30 is not bad.... not expensive too... :D :D

Alrite, juz back from the workshop... after initail assessment, the guy told me that the rear left shock absorber (kan tong) not too good.
Advice is to change both the rear ones...
Cost - $370 per pair for original SA (hydraulic)
$250 per pair for compatible SA (gas) from Japan

As for the engine vibration, their advice is to change engine gearbox oil.
Cost - $25 per litre

Just happen that my 40k servicing is almost due, they charge me $125 for the workmanship of the serivicing, changing of SA, gearbox oil and engine
oil.
Cost - $118 for a 4 litre caltex 5w-40 engine oil.

Think the whole package will cost around $600 sia... (vomit blood ah)
What do u guys think about the cost? Is it reasonable?
