Skimming and slotted lines of OEM disk brake

I was told by the shop opposite of Poh Heng that he can skim and slot lines (groove lines) on my odyssey front rotor disks brakes.
He's charging for this work for $150 for both disks. Brand new slotted disk is $200+ per piece.
My disks brakes have travelled about 39K km.
But my questions for this process are :
1. Are my disk brakes able to perform after skimming and slotted of lines?
2. Can the OEM disk brakes able to stand the braking after skimming and slotted of lines?
3. Is this process worth or are there better solutions coz not willing to spend on 4 or 6 pot?

Strictly answer your Q, not worth. Yes, only 39K km can still skimm and slott it. Yes OEM disc will withstand slott but drilled is a NO NO!
Steel hose is to transfer 100% pressure to the brake caliper while for rubber hose, it will expand after awhile before the full pressure reach the caliper. Thus, steel hose gives a better feel/response. For Steel hose, make sure it comes with silicon protective sleeve to prevent any damge to the steel.
For better braking distance, enlarge the disc but retain ur original caliper. With a new set of bigger disc and good brake pad(that is if u donch mind the dust), your braking distance will improved. Slots are not needed under normal driving condition. Why enlarge? Cos of the centrifugal force on the disc gets bigger when the distance from the spindle to the braking area increases. Giving u a bigger brake force. Bigger brake surface doesn't means better but more grip thats all.
Also, not all Steel hose can fit all cars. Some cars will need valve at the end of the steel hose some donch need.
