Wat is wrong with my esi???

I had this problem yesterday at wheel lock.... going up slope from stationary. engage first gear, release clutch, step on accelerator, car start moving forward abit.... subsequently my car seems like not enuff power to go forward.... i had already depress my accelerator completely and release my clutch fully. when accelrator is depress fully, rpm doesnt rev up nor car start jerking forward.... engine power just slowly become lesser and just cut off and car die on a up slope...
can someone tell me what could possibly be wrong so at least i can better relate to workshop guys... scare they just ask me to change things i dun nid and end up not solving the problem....
btw my fuel tank is full of V-POWER!!! (Weekend promo haha)
the incident is just like trying to move off the car using 2nd car and instead of gaining very slowly, it just die.....
sorry for the messy construction of post... and apologise if this is a dumb situation. newbie here....
thanks for any help...

Wa.. better send to check. Sounds like "airlock" from older diesel powered cars...
Duno whether petrol cars will have such problem anot as I dont think there is even a pump for u to remedy. Ur oil filter how old liao? Maybe clotted?
I anyhow guess only...

wow... thanks for promt reply... my air filter just change 2 weeks ago... not sure if u are toking bout that blue mushroom... if it is i just send car for servicing and they ask me to change the blue mushroom...
so if i send to workshop to check is there any better and wont anyhow chop one to recommend.... the workshop i go for servicing keep asking me to change ecu.... which i am still considering.... dunno is it useful a not... so i dun wan to go there.... btw ecu for lower end one they quoting me 800 plus install n tuning is it ok?

ecu for lower end?
means
1. low end = cheap/budget
or
2. low end = low end power
anyway.. wad is the brand of the "ECU".. i'd advise u to research more on the product first be4 u commit.. 800 smells like a scam to me.. btw which workshop is it?

ok, first of all what ECU is that??? i can't think of a ecu is that price, unless is piggyback. Also for piggback, that is way too ex. normal like Apexi vafc2(used) is around $250-300. AFC Neo is around $400, E-manage blue with harness is around $350. E-manage ultimate is around $750-800. This are the few common ones.
secondly, petrol system chances of air lock in the system is near to 0% even if you empty you fuel tank and top-up, after fews crank, you still able to start. when you accelerate on flat ground, does this happen???
you might wanna go to this few workshop which most of the bro here went.

i can see for you ur ECU! hehaehahea i can do hardware scan for you. if really ecu i can do for you!
sounds like severe case of hesitation.
*i tot air lock only fuel pumpless vehicles kena~?

well, sounds like something bad. but is ur vehicle moving fine now?
prolly a case of cylinder flooding also?

hi all... thanks for all the reply....
pioneer/ cyrix - i looking at not so ex and probably ok ecu... i dun mind paying maybe 1k for ecu, install n tuning.... the 800 ecu include everything and btw the workshop is at midview building.... any ecu for 92 esi to recommend?
cyrix - i dun have any problem crank start the engine... it happens when going up slope.... (btw it happen again at queensway shopping centre when i exit the basement carpark :[) when i engage first gear, car able to move forward but when going up the initial slope the engine suddenly lose its 1st gear power. car start jerk forward slowly bit by bit... i have already release my half clutch and now floor my accelerator but then car still dun move and eventually dead....
shamie - i really dun mind if u can help me wid my ecu man.... i a total noob here... pls dun ketoh me.... maybe u can suggest to me which ecu i can install.... sms me at 97774058 for direct contact....
emperor - ya my ride is ok now... like i say the oni problem is the upslope.... but normal driving is very good lei... temp is good.... start engine in the morning has no problem... engine relatively quiet... but when coming to killer slope.... im dead...
btw i went to ah heng at defu yeaterday.... he test my car a bit... say my car super lagged... the previously owner install the mushroom right in front of the fan.... thus taking in all the hot air... which ecu will detect that engine is hot hence will adjust for lower power.... he suggest extending the mushroom pipe to the opening and partition it... dunno whether it helps a not....
to all - if u have any recommendation on ecu can sms me direct as would be running outside so no com to check on forum reply...

i can help fix ecu only. but i dont tune aftermarket ecu. if u want to stay stock ecu i can recondition the ecu for you.
if it only happens at killer slopes then could be choking fuel line/ seizing fuel pump and bad regulator.
likely fuel pump though coz it sounds like its v weak.

ya ah heng from defu lane told me could be fuel regulator a bit out or something like that... he will adjust back the fuel regulator for me to try see how...
as for stock ecu, u mean can recondition or tune it? cos i heard from CLH at midview say stock ecu cannot tune or close ratio... must get aftermarket to overwrite stock... if u can just recon stock for me i think would be good too... btw get a aftermarket ecu to overwrite stock is it what u guys meant by piggyback? and also will it just have almost the same effect as recon stock ones?

piggy backs are to bluff yur stock ecu into thinking got more air coming in so your stock ecu will pump more fuel. acheiving power this method depends on wat mod u have. usually its used to reduce fuel instead so u dun run too rich thus saving a tiny bit of fuel.
is ur ecu making prob in the first place? i recon means recon.it does not tune ur ecu. its just replacement of faulty parts and worn out parts in the ecu since its about 17 yrs old. i change components and charge u a small fee. do you have check engine light?
close ratio got anything to do with ecu meh?
regardless stock ecu or not .. u can use close ratio.
what mods u have will determine if its worth it to have an aftermarket piggyback. or at least what u intend to mod in the near future.
drop me an sms at 94892865 if u got qtns.
i got a mechanic who does repairs too.
or if u wanna chat i am on msn.

hi shamie, just added u on msn...
ok first i dun think ecu got any problem... just tat workshop guys at midview ask me to install ecu to overwrite stock... say got better power gain and fuel comsuption... so kind of like tempted me a bit... there isnt any check engine light coming up... so i suppose my ecu still working though i dunno if previous owner got change a not...
was looking thru the posts on forum and they were saying change my p28 ecu to p30... tat will help too right?
noob qns - close ratio issit make the gear ratio smaller so i would have better pick up on gear one and two? and u mean in order to do that i dun even have to change ecu?

hi there...im having the same problem as yours.. my car tends to hesitate when goin up slope at 2nd gear... seems like no power then engine die off. happen quite a lot of time but still dnt know wats the problem.. btw is ur car ok now or still having the same problem?
