carbon charger save fuel consumption?

Hi all Honda drivers, I installed a carbon charger recently and it "claim" to improve your fuel efficiency as more air intake = more oxygen = better combustion. However, after installation, I found out that my fuel actually consume a lot faster than before. Does anyone face the same problem or know anything about it? please advise.

ECU says: more air, pumps in more fuel..
f/c all depends on ur right leg....my 2cents.

well, usual driving even after installation. below 2000 rpm at top gear and at most 3000rpm when moving off or uphill. so does it really affects FC?

ECU programming is as said b4, more air = more fuel. This is to protect the engine from burning a too lean mixture which causes higher chamber temps and damage in the long run...
Anyway this is all snake oil laaa

there's really nothing you can install to save fuel.
those that really does save fuel are genuine performance mods like intake header exhaust plus ECU. but you can never re-coup the losses. people mod these not to save fuel, but to gain more power. therefore, even though modifications are making the car better now, it's tuned for power.
out of the many other less costly mods claiming to save fuel, more than 90% of them are snake oil.
the cheapest you can get to saving some petrol is to get a better air filter, or intake mods. cold air intake is subjective, because different engine behaves differently to intake mods.
read those generic fuel saving tips. non of them recommends any kind of mods, because there hardly is. it's all about driving habit, and the car.

thanks all for sharing. does any one know about this thing called Sprint Booster or Air charger which look like a fan powered by a small motor to blow air thru into engine? =)

all this are TC lookalike, but heard the fan fin get damage easily n hurt ur engine....dun install thg to save fuel, take out thg to save fuel...e.g back seat, spare tire.....
to gain power, there are 101 ways, but dun think those air charger is good...do a research b4 really become carrot head bro.

if many claims r true, then all car manufacturers wld hv installed all these so-called fuel saving technologies into their veh.
for fuel efficiency - driving habits n regular maintenance of car.

Hi,
I just installed my carbon charger too. Yes, FC did gone up a little. But I'm getting more power & pickup. You have to sacrifice one for the other. How can more power requires lesser fuel? Logical, right?
I DIY'ed my entire intake setup. I have blue aluminum tube with a CNC machined MAF housing adaptor. I also insert a custom-made teflon tubing (right where the MAF sits) to duplicate the exact same inner diameter as my stock housing. This allows the MAF to read accurately. Did you explore this area in your setup?

cannnnn can get more power without using more fuel technically
stock cars runs rich from stock. just 'add' air to lean it out and u get more power for same amount of fuel. or alternatively u reduce fuel to lean it out la.

eh, please correct me if i am in error. but do there is something called air-fuel sensor that regulates the air-fuel ration?

yep and the manufacturer sets it richer then required.
intake temp sensor will adjust ur injection cycle based on hot air is less dense and requires less fuel
o2 sensor will detect too rich or too lean.
map sensor will deteermine volume of air? i think.
these parameters easy to bluff in low tech cars like mine.
obd2 cars however likes to throw alot of threshold exceeded crap when u meddle these stuffs. so abit more difficult.
any case this is wad i understand of cars.... i hope i am corrected soon if i am wrong hehehehhehee.

Interesting... yes there are ways to burn more lean. Installing a CAI intake can make you run either lean or rich depending on your intake setup. I experimented both large & small diameter intake tubes without scaling or re-calibrating the MAF & temp sensor.
Large tubings caused my car to run lean but pinging & poor low end torque occurred. However, small tubing instead runs a little rich but packs more punches from low to mid end. Guess what? I like the smaller diameter tubing of course!!
A device called SUperione is an example of one method to let u run lean. Because the additional air sucked in occurs after the MAF. So the fuel amount remains the same but air volume is increased. Pretty cool. But I personally prefer not to run too lean for reasons I read from the internet.
So... its interesting to 'play' around your setup to find what suits you best. Rich or lean vs low end or high end... where is your hunger
I'm still meddling with mine setup & hoping to experiment further
