Not to discourage you, but Kah Motor slashed the price of the Civic Hybrid until it is now on par with the Insight. With 0% interest for 12 mths & 5-yr unlimited mileage warranty, and the assurance of buying from AD instead of PI, you might wanna consider the HCH instead.

Insight Questions
Greetings to all fellow Insight Owners! Would like to check a couple of stuff:
nikeian / gun metal / 16/07/10 (L Model)
1) Insight Accessories - Where ? US ? Or Japan? if Best - where in Singapore?
I'm looking for cargo mats and floor mats. Maybe a better longer OEM rear mirror.
*My personal comments*
2) Fuel Consumption - still trying after 3rd fuel refill. Yes, its sensitive at the pedal, too sensitive that sometimes, it has to be very light footed. Travelling on expressway really makes this easier. The cruising allows the consumption to be VERY efficient. After my 2nd refill, system reflect 23.0km/litre. Suddenly a couple of xpressway jams, it dropped to 15.0km/litre and now struggling to hit 17 - 18km/litre. But of course based on actual calc, its close to 15.5km/litre.
3) Any chance would anyone wanna install back wiper? I guess impossible aye?
4) I felled in love with the body kits featured in Mugen Japan. But I reckon I would be happier if anyone can advise where can I install at least a spoiler (hahah)
5) To me, S gear picks up acceleration but in shorter gears. Once i reach horizontal level, I swap back to D gear. *Havnt tried L gear yet.
6) Any current owners would like to suggest petrol brand? I started off with ESSO 8000, SPC 95, now may want to go for premium 98 (maybe back to Esso 9000)
Me and my wife loved our 1st car, after so many options. WE bought the car from Hy**rz and the salesman to me, he's acceptable - reasonable. Going for my 1st servicing. So far so good.
Your comments would be greatly appreciated.
Best,
nikeian

Welcome nikeian! Yours is L model, means come with centre armrest console and maplights?
For accessories, you can google for US websites or ebay sellers that ship overseas. There's also someone in this forum that brings in Honda parts direct from Japan. I haven't bought any yet though.
I also replied your PM regarding FC. I think you haven't read it yet?

Honda Insight (Acceleration & my Wish List)
Noted with thanks! Yes mine comes with arm rest. Naturally the seating configuration must be at 4 (incl. driver) if stretch to 5, then problem viewing rear mirrors. I think you forgot HID headlights as well. Well, those with G models, I reckon they have other plans to design their interiors.Singer high wrote:Welcome nikeian! Just wanna share the Acceleration portion in my PM to you...
Good tip on the 1 / 4 passengers. But I went all the way ECON mode. Not much of my passengers complain about the aircon althought I realised it was less windy during Auto Stop.
Acceleration I am trying to use the computer system to gauge my footing. Once I reach 40-50km/hr, I will try steady footing. Using the system again, once the bar sets in steady about 25km/litre bar level, I will be light footing from there. It is a true and actual fact, this CAR works better when cruising. Never urban driving - Any thoughts?
WISH LIST
OEM Cargo Mat (Boot Mat)
OEM Mud Flaps
OEM Insight Floor Mats
Door Visors
Gun Metal Grey Spoiler, Side Skirting and back skirting.
