Just wondering guys, how often do u guys whack ur engines above 5k rpm? And is it true that whacking your engine helps maintain piston in tip top condition and clear carbon inside your engine or exhaust??? I nv whack before, heart pain when the engine like dragging only drag 4k the most..driving a esi 4M here=) Also, is there a difference in fuel consumption eg, gear 3 60km/h and gear 4 60km/h..normally i shift to gear 4 when reach 40km/h.. :P what speed u guys shift to gear 4?

myth/legend has it that if you drive at low rpms for too long, there will be alot of carbon deposits.

myth/legend therefore has it that you must occassionally rev to clear the holes.

Drive just how the engine wants to be driven bro. :).

If it feels tame just have a slow drive and enjoy it.Sometimes i get up to 7k on my 2nd and 3rd gears then skip 4th jump to 5th at 4/5k rpm then just cruise along..

If u really want to clear carbon on the injectors and top of the piston...adding atf fluid to the petrol and go for a long drive and finish of 2 tanks of fuel.

If u want to clean carbon on the pistons you have to do the atf overnight trick and drive like a madman ard with the smoke ard and tad will make squeaky clean pistons and rings in just 24 hrs.

If u want to clean all the sludge in the engine. dump atf into engine oil one hour before oil change and drive ard, drain and add new oil. this will dislodge all sludge and carbon from the engine.

Then again they are skeptics and non believers. A procedure that if u ask 2 pl 2 different answers..Just like skeptics and non believers i myself dont believe that mas selamat is caught till he's in person in tv. So as for above. u will only know if u try/do it.

Or just fill up with caltex . ;)

goggle is your best friend ;).

thank you very much Num3ga.i guess i will clear carbon by frequently revving higher and continue pumping caltex.heheh.adding atf fluid seems risky..no $$ for repairs if anything goes wrong..hahah

Haha understand bro :). i actually do the atf treatment with fuel often when going for long drive in malaysia just gotta make sure it does stay in the fuel system too long.. and the 24 atf trick at tuas on a good sunny sunday every few months or so

Just rev up once in a while. the vtec lobes needs some exercise :)
