hi, need some ans about air filters.
planning to change my stock air filter, but had some feedbacks that,
those after market air filter do not give very good filtration, so long term, your engine will spoilt and lose power. dust particles will get in, how true is this?

there are many stories unheard of... to each of its own.
if these filters do not perform/outlast than stock filters, why are they still available in the market leh

a question i am currently looking into. had checked several web sites and seen some tests done from their sites.
a particular site strike me is bobistheoilguy.com, he had done several filters and from what i gather is that better air-flow = less filtration and vice versa. and he believe that stock paper / fiberous are not really that restrictive but have good filteration properties.
perhaps bros or siss here can input their experiences.

i think it all depends on how you drive your car, the performance and the costs.
