my CB honda civic 92 will take quite some time for the CEL to go off. and when this happens, there will be no fuel feed and therefore my car is unable to start.

stuffs that i have done,

i changed to a brand new relay.
jumped the relay pins 5 and 7 to test if the fuel pump works( yes it did)

checked the MAP sensor readings, gave ard 5volts reading which should be fine.

changed the ACG (ALT) (S) 15 amp fuse
(under dash board)


so does this mean that the only main thing responsible for this is the ECU?
this is the only part which i have not diagnosed yet. have yet to open the ecu to check for any leaking capacitors and such..

==> check the error code first... dun anyhow do this do that... with error code, it will tell u exactly what is causing the ECL...

there is no CEL to begin with. lol

I suspect a gremlin residing near the ecu and playing with u.Standby the sort pins lah bro when cel pops park and check the codes. Just in case u see the gremlin give it a good slap for fooling ard with u

You can try Mike / 64556268 Kian teong auto centre, he fix my CEL problem after i wasted time and $ with 4 other workshops. He specializes in ecu/electrical diagnosis.. cheers.

There is this relay switch for the ignition. (When you insert your key into and turn). It is located along the key insertion mechanism module which can be seen when you dismantle the low part of your steering wheel dust cover.
EG has this common symptoms that when you turn the key, no CEL appear or will appear much later or will disappear later..this are signs of the ignition switch failure. The cause leads to insufficient battery supply draw by the mechanism from the battery. Without the CEL light being lights up and then lights off, your car will not be able to start.
Replacement of it shd solve yr problem
