I sent PM to you in the FD forum already... but for the sake of other hybriders I've copied my reply here

I was told by the service guy at KM that most of the battery changes they have done for customers have been for people who leave their cars unattended for long periods. He did not say how long these periods were. I seem to remember reading in the manual the same thing. Take a look in your manual again... it might specify the duration. My car is driven almost daily. Only one time did I not drive it for more than 1 week- when I was overseas for 10 days (this was more than a yr ago) and the car was fine when I got back.

My car goes into forced regen 1-2 x per day!

Update: the IMA battery was changed under warranty on Monday. The old one is being shipped back to Japan for checks.
Have not driven a the car a lot since then- only about 50km, all urban. The charge level has not dropped below 4 bars. No forced regen so far. :)

Everything is back to normal :D
Like a 2nd lease of life for my 3 yr old car...
The lowest the charge has dropped to is 3-4 bars. No regen at all since IMA battery change.
By the way, heard someone else in the FD forum got his batt changed- 2006 car also.

Cost of IMA Battery Replacement

Post by Renesis27 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 10:22 am

I think Honda must have had a change in policy, my Nov 2008 Civic Hybrid going for IMA battery replacement soon after failed attempts to resolve the IMA light coming on. Cost is S$3700, warranty only 3 months. This totally sucks and ruined whatever fuel savings I have had in the past 3 years.

That was bad news.... Makes me thinking of selling away the car to cash in on the high pricing now.... :? :?
