Open pod or Drop In

Guy need u all advice
i drive a civic esi (M)..
juz change to free flow exos...
Which set up is better
Open pod or drop in filter??
Pls advice...

i would think that open pod is better. it provides freer flow of air as compared to drop in. so if your engine does less work sucking the air, means more performance.

the worst is those poorly DIY'ed CAI whereby people use small diameter silicon hoses (makes airlow turbulent flowing through those uneven innings) and position it to somewhere else in the bonnet that has little or no airflow.

however it's debatable (as usual always because people so believe in butt feel, as if their butts has powerful sensors) whether open or drop in will give better performance.

but i think in overall, both should be about the same, it boils down to noise. whether noise abatement is really of importance to you. drop in filters are so much less noiser. open pods can be very noisy, but depends on where you put it also, can be made less noisier.

dont think many will just do dyno on changing filters. most are based on their experiences and R&D, then they shared.

wont it be time & money wasting if u keep modding whereby u can save all those if u have some proven or concrete result? duh... be practical... not all people are a walking atm like u ley.. :roll:
