Is $339.80 too expensive to Replace 4 our Front Brake Pads?

Post by copying33 » Fri Feb 13, 2009 5:28 pm

Went down to Autobacs. They quoted me $280.00 original civic Fd1-Pad
but still have to charge me flushing of brake fluid $20.00
plus 2 bottles of Fluid $39.80 Total cost $339.80!!!

I was shocked on the pricing!!!

Any one out there have any Lobang to get it Fix?

NEVER EVER do any servicing or repairs at autobacs. Their mechanics are not up to standard. Worst of all, most of them will exaggerate and tell u this and that worn off or damaged. Havent change for the past 5 years. Thus, I stopped doing any things that require them to touch my car.
But if u like accessories, they do carry quite a big range but do note most of them are imported from Japan and so quite ex.
Changing of brake pads doesnt require you to also change brake fluid or do flushing. Their labour charge is pretty high...
In my own opinion, SILENT is better in terms of service.
My 2 cents worth.....

75k? Why not wait till 80k and do the major servicing at 80k? That one will change eveything, every belt, every fluid...etc..super expensive servicing...but it's no choice for 80k lah :)

Brake fluid lives inside the brake hose, which controls the pistons holding the pads.
Changing of pads do not require flush.
Unless you change to ssbh or fluid leaking.
Think they trying to carrot you.

Can consider HAMP (made in Japan)

100% non asbestos material in environment, are superior in resistance fading characteristic and control characteristic.
The pad which is equal to HOP being thick, it actualized price low.
